Dented Tankard - OOC Thread

Drunk as a skunk, Little Jix the Jinx staggers in. She been known to get in bar fights before. Last one ended poorly for a sailor as he found out her cute little hands that have razor sharp claws.

All 3' 4" of her. She can't be too much more than sixty pounds soak and wet. Would look bad on her too as she would look like a drench rat since she is a ratfolk. A fairly good looking one to boot.

Many have seen her on docks and such. Rumor has it, she can make ships sink. No one shorts her pay.

What story trait is everyone taking?

Folks, the game has not started yet. Feel free to discuss anything OOC in here. If you have questions about character generation, please ask by PM or in your private thread. Chances are, if it's core or other Paizo products I'll allow it, but I'd like to review any third party stuff.

Can everyone let me know if you can see each others' private thread? If you can't see your own, you can always use the link in this thread to get to it. I have the permissions set on the threads such that only the player and the DM should be able to see/post to them. I'll use the private thread to give your character personal information, such as the result of a skill check, or other information only your character would know.

Also, please feel free to play the character you'd like to play, but keep in mind the theme of this adventure path. If your character isn't interested in being a pirate, associating with pirates, or otherwise sailing around The Shackles (and beyond!), then this probably isn't the best locale for that character. Likewise, if you as a player are not interested in pirates or all things nautical, then this probably isn't the game for you.

My target date to get us started is Sept. 9. In the meantime, I'll be reviewing characters, organizing the game forum, getting up to speed with the module, setting up maps, etc. If you could get your characters to me by Friday, that'd be super!

Arrr-gh! There's chat in the Bugs forum that something is up with the way subforums are being displayed/handled. I tend to run an organized PbP game, so this is...anxiety-inducing. haha

I can't find it documented anywhere, but I'm guessing this happens after I approve the character. I plan to work on that tomorrow.

I put some posting guidelines up, in addition to the first post of the game thread. I'm still waiting on some final character sheet tweaks, but I think we're on target to get started on Monday! CEP, if you want to have Ian and Natsumi work together, I think that's a great idea. She's usually tired in the mornings (fatigued, actually, due to the drawback I selected for her), but would definitely chat up anyone of the "conscripts" to look for help in getting out of this situation and back to lining her pockets with gold.

Sounds perfect. Ian is really more of a night owl himself.

Watch out for her. She's a creature of pleasure and comfort and might try to get him to entertain her so she doesn't wake up fatigued the next morning (hedonistic drawback.)

The -only- reason I didn't give Ian that one was because you can only pick one Drawback and there was another that edged it out.

It seemed to fit with my character concept - capricious, carefree, given to stealing things for fun...

Hey everyone. Thanks for your patience. I'm working on a post and hope to get it up by the end of the weekend. Coordinating 6 peoples' independent actions, then putting it into a narrative takes time, as you all know :) I really like the format you all started using: roll for your daily task, include your day and night actions. That helps me plan ahead.

If I miss something you've posted about doing, please let me know!

What does everyone do for a living? I've been a librarian of some kind or another since 2001. For the past 8 years, I've been an administrator at a rural public library. It might be surprising, but farming communities really love their libraries!

Should we be posting our night activities as well? I only posted my day time.

I'm a Private Security Officer with a solid background in the military and law enforcement.

Feel free to post your day and night together, when you roll for your daily task.

To wrap up the first night, feel free to attempt your nighttime ship action if you haven't already, then we'll start day two!

I've created an XP Tracker thread, so we all can keep track of how much, and when, XP has been earned. This AP has been keyed to the "Medium" XP track, so 2000 points is level 2.

Round 1 was resolved. Round 2 has begun. Init order was posted awhile back. Ibid.

I guess I'm not used to PbP being in post order, or players "taking turns". My role is to sort out what happens and how it happens, then write it down in a coherent (no guarantees) narrative. If your action precludes somebody else's action, I'll PM you about it. Otherwise, feel free to go ahead and post your action (in any order) for a given round.

Please also use the map when you fight or make tactical moves: give me a target for your fury and a grid reference in your OOC if applicable. If you don't, you leave it up to me, and my choices for you during a fight might not be what you'd choose for yourself. :devilgrin:
