Actions
First, let me remind you how things work in general : after the GM (or another player) describes a situation, you describe what you intend to do in response and how.
For example, if you intent to intimidate the thugs at the nearby table by getting up and smashing your chair on the ground, say so. I'll need both information, always.
Rolling dice
If you already know what dice need to be rolled, for example because you are doing something that you often do and that has no reason to be resolved otherwise, add the dice rolling to your post. All the dice. Like, if you force someone to make a saving throw in response to your action, roll those too. I'll add the appropriate modifiers, advantages and all before I describe the outcome, but in most cases we'll already know how things went.
For other actions, feel free to roll what you think is appropriate but know that I often ask for unusual rolls because they are the correct way to resolve the action. For example, in the chair smashing example above, I'd ask for an Strength (Intimidation) roll. And the chair will be broken no matter what given that you have any decent strength. The roll is here to know if the thugs were impressed or if they'll laugh at you.
Styling
No matter the choices you make to format, style or describe your actions: be consistent.
Here's the way I usually like things to be:
* Use present : your job is to describe your character's actions ; actions are present, therefore using future or past makes it both harder to write and to read
* Direct dialog is bold and color: you can "quote" it if you want, but it's important to make it clear if you are describing actions, details, or dialog. Try to pick a different color from your teammates, and a readable one. There's a massive list of supported colors here : https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_names.asp If you prefer indirect dialog, I have no problem with that. I myself use both.
* Line breaks, punctuation etc... They don't cost anything, use them :)
* Avoid describing your thoughts. I know, I know, lot a people like to do that. Please don't. Instead, describe the actions that you do and reflect those thoughts. Yes, they sometimes can be misinterpreted: that's the whole point!
Attendance
The game's description page mentions a posting rate of 6 posts per week. I expect everyone to come and post at least daily during the week, once during the week-end. Feel free to post more, of course. It's OK to skip a post here and there, just make sure that we're not waiting for your post/action.
If you know that you won't be able to post for a week or two due to reasons, no problem: life happens to all of us. Just let us know in the OOC thread so that we don't wait for you.
Waiting breaks the game's momentum, and that's bad for everyone in the game :)
