The past few hours have been rather stressful. In fact, you cannot recall having been this agitated in a long time, but you have no one but yourself to blame (for now, anyway). You were not one to go wandering alone in the mountains, but the caravan you were on happened to get waylaid by a hunting patrol of giants, and, well, you had an aversion to being roasted on the spit ot swallowed whole, so when things turned south for the caravan defenders, you took to the west; and kept moving until you were sure they were not following you.
The problem then became that you were alone in the Barrier Peaks, a place known for its deadly denizens and short lifespan of those who traveled alone. You were fortunate to stumble across a group of soldiers camped at the base of the hill, and they welcomed you without question; your story provided them much to laugh(?) about, but it was their story that caught your interest.
The were the duke's men, sent on a mission with the best heroes of Geoff to investigate the abominations spewing forth from the mouths of some caves nearby. It wasn't the thought of a harrowing adventure inside the caves, but rather the fact that the duke had promised the surviving heroes a huge sum of coin and even land should they choose. Under cover of night, you snuck up to the caves, only to find the way barred by metal walls.
You spent an extremely long period of time checking and searching, but to no avail, when the wall suddenly parted and you took a few steps in to see what could be found. Un-luckily (for once) the doors slid closed behind you and you could not find a way to open them so you began your walk to the interior, hoping to find your fellow adventurers somewhere inside.
Alas, you did not find them, but you did manage to find a trio of small plant creatures that sought to make you their next meal. However, but as luck would have it, you managed to evade them, and now find yourself wandering lost in a maze of metal hallways, doors that cannot be opened, and an incessant buzzing and vibrating that has begun to give you a headache.
As you turn the corner, however, you spy those who you have been looking for. The party looks to be engaging a strange metal golem, who is spinning around, flailing his arms and releasing volumes of smoke, fire and flashes of light, all while squawking loudly and flailing its long, tentacle-like arms.
Suddenly you see a flash of light from a branching hall, and the golem nearly explodes where it stands. In the aftermath it lay still, but the buzzing sound continues.

OOC:
Map forthcoming. Your thread should be pretty quick, depending on how the party accepts you. :P
