CRISIS: The Duergar War\
The duergar have been beaten back into their holes and caverns nearly everywhere. Hopefully they do not return anytime soon.

The one place they still show themselves above ground is the old imperial road in western New Zaangoria. (1 CRISIS post needed to remove them.)

They did however not go without a fight. In Zaangoria, the stone dragon was destroyed, but in the Marches, the Colossus now roams freely in the lands near the capital, wreaking havoc on towns and villages. (2 CRISIS posts needed to defeat it.)

There are reports that the duergar are massing unseen near Shady Sands. They must be doing this for a reason. What do you think their reasons could be, and how will you respond to their attack on this fledgling nation?

Please note that posts for the Crisis are separate from expansion/development posts. You can do both, or either, up to the max of four.

Current Unrest*
Eleven Marches: previous: 4 + 3 (undev prov) + 0 (overdev prov) + 4 (hostile border prov) + 0 (unfed prov) - 3 (culture/resources)= 8/21
New Zaangoria: previous: 4 + 0 (undev prov) + 0 (overdev prov) + 0 (hostile border prov) + 0 (unfed prov) - 2 (culture/resources)= 2/21

* This is a fresh calculation that includes nothing before this week, as this is a hard reset of the unrest system. If you spent culture on unrest last week (and last week only) convert it to wealth.
In order for me to make good calculations here, I need a complete resource/production chain list. It should look something like this:

Capital: RESOURCE1, RESOURCE2, RESOURCE3
Producing: RESOURCE1

CITY2: RESOURCE1, RESOURCE2
Producing: RESOURCE1, RESOURCE2

TOTAL PRODUCTION:
RESOURCE1 x2, RESOURCE2 x1.

Chained resources:
Using RESOURCE1, RESOURCE2 to make XXXXX.

It doesn't need to be exactly this, but you get the idea. It also doesn't need to be updated every week unless you're making changes to it; I'll use the latest one I see.

quick question. Are we supposed to "solve" the events or will you play the result based on our actions?

For example, the mercenary band is found slaughtered. Can I define why that happen (for real, not scapegoating), or is it more how it was investigated?

Zahad, I’ll be securing the imperial road during my development if you want to tie in I could extend the protection with some mercenaries or something else.

New Teloch, is it ok if my murdered mercenaries were in the service of your defecting noble before being recalled?

ALL details I didn't provide are up to you. As far as solving anything, there's no pass/fail, and there's no right solution. I will however use your RP to determine future events.

That makes a lot of sense, go for it.

Great! First event connection done! I won't blame the undead, but that could be an easy way to get rumours spreading about what is going on elsewhere ;) I probably should name my people at some point but I'm too bad at that :D

Just wondering if there is a reason why you don't want to make a new post of new events? You could copy the text, make the same changes and post a new one each sunday or so

I just thought it would be easier to look at the top post rather than have to get to the end of the thread, but if you guys would rather have it the other way, I can totally do that.

I get what Falconloft mean, as first post will remain as a quest board of sorts that gets updated in the same place. Maybe he can put up a weekly post notifying that events are updated with a link to first post. Maybe also stating what the current week is, which I'm guessing is soon becoming week 3. This is just a suggestion, up to GM's choice.

I'm trying to get us back on track with once-a-week updates, but now that you mention it... I'm going to just end the week on sunday and do my updates Monday, so I'll adjust the date a bit.

I think the tunnel plot is Zaangoria's. There was something up with some duergar being creating dragons from stone, but it wasn't very clear what was happening so far (I haven't read last week's post yet :( )

The clones was Rivellesk's plot. They got some old noble rising and walking around as if nothing happened and then found out there were some important people who have been replaced by simulacra. It is unclear how, it is seemed like a forgotten plot from the old empire. In the mean time, there is something going on at the Old Land's as part of the Eleven Marches that meets with the simulacra idea. At the moment, only ash copies of people have been found.

Let's see if I got this right:
- Marches need 2 posts to recover all the lad in the Old lands, 1 to get the Northern lands back and 2 to defeat the colossus. That's 5 in total
- Zaagoria needs 3 to clear recover the land and 2 to defeat the dragon. That is also 5.
So, when you say that *if* we cannot meet all objectives, does that mean that we may post 5 times with effect, or is the maximun still 4 posts? It looks like we're not meant to complete all goals, but just checking :D

Events have been updated. I've got another court date coming up, but we've only got two players atm, so I'm going to eschew the deadline for now. When everyone has their posts done, I'll update the map again. If we get an update done before the 5th, I'll post a date for the next one.

FOR ZAANGORIA: Just realized I left the occupied zone layer off. Your occupied territories are the ones on the old imperial road EXCEPT for the city.
