Kells

She was good with exoskeletons. Made a decent wage operating various models at ore foundry planets. They found she could make these ungainly robotic frames navigate mine shafts and magma rivers with ease. So they upgraded her to the extractors, controllable arms, rudimentary jump jets to move over difficult terrain, basic cannon to blast through stone and granite. She seemed to enjoy it, and didn't mind that it didn't pay that well. The corporation thought it a waste of talent to keep her in mining and operations, and moved her to security. Sleeker machines, small arms machine pistols, anti-personnel charges. She took them in her stride. This paid better, she carried on, until she had enough to get off planet to enrol in the Lancer programme. Truth be told, someone pulled strings for her to do so; there was no way an ordinary wageslave, however talented she might be, could score a place in the academy. Hanova didn't know anything of this, she only knew that the outcome of it all was the chance to pilot her own mech. That was hope enough.
