The Green Park(Character Creation thread)

Here is where character creation discussions will be.

Applied the previous completed character. Darastrix the red.

Is there some way to move the character across, or did you just have to copy/paste?

Is there any restrictions in character creation? I'm looking towards a color combination of green, or pure green.

The only restrictions are using the races in the PDF.
Colours can be any combination.
Class and backgrounds is PHB, but I can entertain others if they are suitable for the setting.
You may choose Evil as Alignment, but your character should be reasonable enough not to kill all of a sudden.

You should be able to just withdraw you character and your can still stay in the game

Do I use standard or point buy for stats or am I rolling?

Using points buy. So it's 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8

Reading the material, I was torn between a dino-riding ranger for the Sun Empire and a swashbuckling vampire with the Brazen Coalition. Looking at current party composition I have an urge to go with the ranger just to balance out the factions, but I do know there are other players joining. The vampire pirate feels like more fun for me, but look: dinos!

I'm going to be a vampire black/white warlock.

How many Ideals and traits do you want us to have?

I'm not very strict about these points, as you deem what is appropriate as long as you have a good idea of what your character is.

Alright, I am thinking of submitting a Siren Warlock (pact of the hexblade, if permitted). She would be a blue/white warlock.

Can I be a green white vampire? Also do I have to be one of the suggested classes based on the 4 factions?

I'm looking at a vampire Celestrial Warlock. If not, a vampire paladin. If I should be part of one of the two factions the party is already in let me know and I'll think of something else.

Can I be a sparkly vampire? Just kidding. Ugh!

I changed my mind. I'm going to be a human druid sailor. Green/Red colors.

Are these level 1 characters, or are they a little higher in level?

Submitted the same character as last time. As a reminder, he's a green-white paladin of the sun empire who will take ANY opportunity to ride a dinosaur, with a career goal of riding a T-rex. He was level 1 when the last game ended

@HeroAmongMen: I'm thinking I'll have your character be captured by Captain Chainfist, and be one of the prisoners that escaped. Thats OK right?

Yeah okay, I am going with a warrior for the Sun Empire as well. And I would like to eventually have a dinosaur mount. Tempted to go paladin (cast Find Steed at 5th level!) or ranger, but I think I'll go with a fighter.

When I started typing this I had decided to go human (partly because we already have two vampires), but just now thought of a new character idea: how about a vampire conquistador who has "gone native" and now serves the Sun Empire? He has fallen in love with this land (Green-Red) and hates the Legion of Dusk with a passion. He would have the Soldier or the Sailor background but for background feature he would have the All Eyes On You from the Far Traveler background.

How does that sound?

You can have the party composition be anything. The path of how the game will go will easily adapt to whether there is a strong leaning to one faction, or if they might be a balance out.

Also, I am not so sure about the mixing of the backgrounds. I think you could go with Far traveller if you want to focus on being a deserter of the Legion, or you can be sailor or soldier and have your situation stand out in RP.

I hope it's okay that I traded in the chain mail (from starting package) to a chain shirt. Veza is a finesse fighter. I intend to eventually go Battlemaster, although if dino-riding is on offer I may go Cavalier instead. We'll see.

Does Grim owe any allegiance to the Legion? If yes, I may have to rethink my character a bit. As it stands, Veza is not only a deserter, but also hates the Legion.

No grim has no allegiance to the Dusk, he is basically there against his will

Also, I have made a faction called Legion Traitors for those that ran away from, or actively rebelled against, The Legion of Dusk.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how the Sun Empire treats Veza. He has offered his services to the Empire (and hopefully they have accepted) but just how far are you willing to trust a defector?

What sort of vampire character do you have in mind, FunzoSuruali?

We have 2 vampires that are disenters of the Dusk Legion. One is looking to cure his vampirism, another is adapting into Sun Empire society.
There is 1 more vampire that is still affiliated, and is trying to make his Family proud.

I'm thinking of a way of the shadow monk/agent of the queen. Maybe he's been sent to help scout new territories? I'd play him as loyal to the queen, but I think that loyalty will be easily shaken, if not turned entirely.

Also, the acolyte background gives two languages. Should I pick standard languages from the PHB, or should I look at taking languages from this setting specifically?

It's best to take from this setting. I'll list them out here :

Common(sounds like English), Merfolk(merfolk language), Vampire(it sounds like Spanish), Orc(it's gutteral), Goblin(its spoken quickly and harshly), Siren(it sounds hauntingly beautiful), Itzocan(Sun Empire native tongue), Brazen Pidgen(A Slang based on common, but with a combination of other languages.)

I imagine Brazen Pidgen sounds like this: "Eh! Mi Amigo! I heard yah been Kachaking with them Aaooyah Gibinerninics lately! You Gomunda Diablo! Ahihihi!"

I live in Singapore, I'm familiar with Singlish commonly combining English with Hokkien, Malay, etc.

But I won't be kena speaking any Singlish here, lah! ;)

I'm pretty sure my character is complete, and I submitted it to the game. What's next? Should I go ahead and make a post in the backstory thread?
