Steinbjorn Gunnarsson, aka Stein, was born on the deathworld Fenris. After a life of war and hunting, he was choosen to have the chance of becoming a space wolf. As part of his trial, he managed to kill a Fenrisian wolf, a feat few could manage. He still proudly wears his pelt. After a few months as a bloodclaw, he was sent with the skyclaws due to his over-agressiveness... A few decades of action had managed to calm him somewhat, enough that he was put in charge of his unit as a test to see if he was ready to join the grey hunters. His first mission was a simple one, a small and far colony needed help with the pacification of a tribe of primitive orks. But, when his squad arrived, it became rapidly clear that they weren't dealing with primitive orks... Once they had been dropped, their ship wad destroyed by a nearby ork kill kroozer. In less than a few days, more than half his squad was dead. By the end of a month, he was the only survivor. Since the colony was far and small, it took a few years before someone else came... This time, knowing a team of space wolves had gone missing, they sent a deathwatch killteam. But even they weren't prepared for what was waiting... The orks were preparing, the colony was no more, they were about to call an exterminatus when a communication came in. There were a few survivors, protected by the last remaining space wolf, Stein. Stein joined the killteam to escort the last civilians, but they were ambushed by a warband lead by a young warboss. After a heated fight, even if they managed to kill the warboss, two thirds of the team were lost, but every remaining civilians had been saved. The civilians were relocated and Stein sent back to Fenris, but it wasn't long before a request had been sent and approved to joined the Deathwatch and he ended up being sent in Watch-Fortress Erioch by some decision of the Ordo Xenos.

What is your homeworld like?
Macragge itself is mostly bleak and rocky, with more than three-quarters of its land mass formed from mountainous terrain nearly entirely devoid of life. The planet is encircled by vast, nigh impregnable orbital defences, as well as mighty fortresses at either pole.

What is your personality like?
Analytical, realist, tries to be approachable, curious and dedicated.

Why were you selected for the Deathwatch?
They saw his potential during the Tyranid attack on Macragge, his unit was already mostly wiped so the legions were already reorganising so it wouldn't be too hard to do so

What does to Deathwatch mean to you?
Place to prove his worth, group of (potential) elites, hopefully a place he will get to serve the emperor well.

What do you desire?
To prove his ability to lead and earn his place as a leader amidst his fellow battle-brothers.

What do you hate?
Cowardice, not being given a chance, Tyranids.

What is your homeworld like?
Cloten Prime, former Pleasure World - Cloten was a guard slave in a hedonistic estate. Sparsely populated, it's very human friendly, but climate and fauna wise, but is largely made up of wealthy estates and resorts. (Note: early on, a recruiter simply called him by his homeworld name and it stuck). World was entirely depopulated during a Necron assault.

What is your personality like?
Dry humour, prone to fits of over confidence.

Why were you selected for the Deathwatch?
DW marine wanted to preserve 'genetic perfection' in the path of a Necron assault, had Cloten shipped to a nearby Blood Angel recruiter for training

What does to Deathwatch mean to you?
It's the pinnacle of human honor and duty.

What do you desire?
The heart of battle, the thrum of adrenaline.

What do you hate?
Besides xenos and waiting? Music, can't stand it, either the sound or the cultural irrelevance.[/quote]

Name: Kenshen "Ken"
Specialty: Devastator Marine

What is your homeworld like?
Savagely brutal... and beautiful.

What is your personality like?
Outwardly, aloof to anything other than combat. Reserved, pragmatic and vigilant. He is eager for the next mission, the next order... the next kill.

Why were you selected for the Deathwatch?
Ken has repeated experiences with the Xenos, and after facing the Slaugth at Vigil a reconciliation was needed. Even his armor had a history with the thronging Tyranid, in past days of glory, so when the Deathwatch requisitioned assistance from the Storm Guard in a Genestealer cleanse of a derelict imperial cruiser, a normally reserved Kenshen jumped at the chance. After a harrowing, yet successful sweep and clear, his superiors saw a mutually advantageous to the disgruntled Kenshen to give space to his home chapter.

What does to Deathwatch mean to you?
The opportunity to throw oneself into battle against the vile Xenos races. For the Emporer! And for Glory!

What do you desire?
The systematic destruction of Xenos filth.

What do you hate?
Overconfidence

Petrix
Chapter: Raven Guard
Specialty: Tactical

What is your homeworld like?
Petrix grew up on an abyssal moon with thin atmosphere and deadly subterranean, burrowing predators.

What is your personality like?
Petrix is quiet, appearing stoic and concentrated. Like any battle brother, he values success in the mission above all else, but he seems to hesitate more than other Marines appreciate. He sees himself as a strategist as much as a tactician, trying to take in the whole picture, and use the best of his resources and terrain to make the maximum impact for the minimum cost.

He is also possessed of a sense of empathy for other men in the Emperor's service, but this is expressed in a self-destructive fashion. After what he perceives as his failure, grievously wounded in an attack on a Genestealer cult, he sees himself as unworthy of his status as a Space Marine, and does not hesitate to but himself in harm's way to protect his more worthy battle-brothers.

Why were you selected for the Deathwatch?
Petrix was grievously wounded in a vicious assault on a Genestealer cult. He took command of his squad without hesitation when his sergeant was slain, and held a vital escape corridor with only two fellow Ravens, leaving their captain free to assault the patriarch directly. Badly wounded, he had to be carried from the field, but he kept up suppressive fire with his pistol even as he was being loaded back onto the Thunderhawk. His bravery was commended.

What does to Deathwatch mean to you?
Petrix sees the Deathwatch as a chance to redeem himself and prove his mettle. He saw his injury and long rehabilitation as a waste of the Raven Guard's resources, and his failure to bring more survivors back from his operation as a sin requiring penance.

What do you desire?
Petrix most desires respect and acknowledgement, both from the people of the Empire and his fellow Battle Brothers. The Raven Guard are often seen as ignoble and opportunistic, but he sees stealth, surprise, and precision as the apex of warfare.

He also, perhaps more selfishly, wants to get his feet back under him and prove to himself that he is worthy of the title Adeptus Astartes.

What do you hate?
Petrix hates to be manipulated. He wants to know the whole picture, to assess all of the risks, and play out all of the consequences, and not be bent to someone else's shape and purpose.

Mk VI "Corvus" Power Armor
Petrix' Power Armor is an esteemed suit with a long and storied history in the Raven Guard. It was originally worn by the Raven Guard who went on to form the Raptors, one of the Raven Guards' most esteemed Second Founding chapters. Assignment to the armor was seen as a vote of confidence from his Captain, who saw the potential for command. The armor itself was very badly damaged during Petrix' actions against the Genestealer cult, and had to be extensively rebuilt during his convalescence. It still shows deep scars where it was literally torn apart.
