So I've recently gotten into the Cypher System. I liked Numenera and when I saw they had expanded it to superheroes I had to check it out. I think it could be interesting.

If you're interested in checking it out too...join me in the Super Cyphers game.

I'm going to have to just follow this one, and let others join. I'm very interested, but I'm already in many games.

My games are slowing so I'll check out the book and see if I can make something before applying unless you're all filled up... Do we need just a super name or a real identity as well.

Both would ideal for a well rounded character. There are a few questions I was planning to put to the players that may influence some 'real identity' choices. Such as what level the team wants to operate on, vigilante vs. government sanction. Public personas vs. secret, that sort of thing.

I had an idea for two different guys, one was more of a brawler like the old school batman live action show and the other was more pulpy style superhero that thought sometimes and then acted.

Both good options, and surprisingly easy to build in the Cypher system.

The Centurion
Driven Warrior who Metes Out Justice

Scarlet Shadow
Stealthy Explorer who Operates Undercover

Is there a generic Cypher character sheet I can add to the site?

*takes Numenera Sheet*
*Erases Numnenera*
*Draws in crayon Cypher System logo*

It's pretty much the same thing besides the logo and that there are 4 type versus 3 (Jack was split)

*blows off dust*

We're still looking for players... *checks pulse on the other player*

*Remnant feels a faint pulse from the other player*

If we don't get more players than the super cool characters Remnant and I made will never see the light of day :(

Yes there is the community canned food drive next Saturday followed by highway cleanup.

This sounds very interesting. Only one small setback, I have no experience with Numenera at all. Any tips or advice would be welcome.

I honestly haven't a clue how to play or make a character.

Cypher characters are really easy to make. I know FoolsMask has taken new players in past games. Hopefully we hear soon if he's ok with new players this time.

Hi, yes, I do accept new players and am willing to teach if need be. If you bring me a concept I can help make it work in our game. Well, within reason. The characters we will be playing aren't on the level of Superman or Green Lantern...but you can make just about any type of character.

We currently have two openings.

That sounds awesome. I will pm you later with a concept and we can try and get together later for character creation. If that's ok with you of course.

@Cerris214 Sounds good. Go ahead and apply to the game as well.

If you are worried about being new to the cypher system/numenera don't be. I have never used that system before either, but it is really easy to pick up and character creation is not super complicated. For comparison the cypher system is slightly less complicated than D&D 5th edition.

It's not that I'm worried. I just find that having someone familiar with a system can make character creation go faster and smoother. Not to mention they know which powers/skills/traits are best to use for the character you are trying to make as well.

Well if you have a concept in mind let us know we can start throwing out ideas.

I sent Foolsmask a PM earlier. Just waiting for him to get back to me.
Mar 9, 2016 11:43 pm
The concept I put to foolsmask was along these lines. Something like Greatest American Hero and Nitewing had a child. Someone new to their powers and conflicted about if they are doing the right thing.
