Prelude (Finale) - Fort Ohm...Gearing up.

Jan 25, 2020 5:52 am
OOC:
Each of you has an equivalent of $500 to purchase equipment. Considering the nature of this adventure you will want to acquire what you feel you would need to adventure beyond Fort Ohm at this time. Anything listed under the Tesla Rangers Gear is available as well as anything you might find in a Wild Western setting.
As you lot make it to the Armory you see a two-story building comprised of stone blocks with only a few barred windows. There is one guard posted outside the entrance of the Armory.

He addresses you, "Hello. Papers?"
OOC:
If you all show your papers proceed onwards.
After you show your papers the guard unlocks a large metal door with a key and opens it up.

Inside the large block building, you enter immediately into a hallway, a half-door (waist-high) to the right acts as a sort of entrance to a small office and directly ahead are more iron bars to proceed through. A gentleman steps up to the half-door. He is an older gentleman, greying hair, wears glasses that seem as much a part of his face as his nose.

"Well! What a nice new lot of Tesla recruits. Welcome welcome. Papers?"
OOC:
If you each quickly show him your papers proceed.
He leads you all down the hall to the double door.

"You each have 500 credits ($500) to acquire whatever armaments, rations, or general supplies you might need. We have healing supplies, various firearms and you'll be wanting to get armor-piercing rounds as well. Regular rounds don't have much effect on the big tin cans. If its something more out of the ordinary you is wanting, well, you'll need to see Master Calvin over in the lab. He has those special Tesla weapons. So, if you'd be wanting to get some of those don't spend all of your credit with me. My name is Quatermaster Gilliard by the way. A pleasure to have you all."

"Oh! The lab is downstairs." He points to a hatch in the back corner of the room.

"If you'll be wanting any of your personal supplies you're welcome to have them." You'll see along the wall several pinewood crates and boxes with a name tag attached to it with your acquired property. "You're all official now, no sense in us keeping that stuff."

OOC:
Head down below to see Master Calvin for any special Tesla weaponry, etc...you can see that in the Gears thread.

OOC:
So I came in with nearly $500 worth of gear including a $300 horse. Does that equipment count toward my $500 allotment and if so, can I turn any of that gear in to be able to unlock other gear? I would ideally like to buy a pistol and was under the impression we'd be issued a Dragoon when we arrived, but probably can't square the circle to have both a horse AND a pistol. If anybody in the group doesn't have a horse, I'd probably ditch mine in favor of a pistol, but if everybody has a horse I'll try to make due with my Tesla objects that give me powers.
Jan 25, 2020 6:26 pm
No horse here. John purchases a canteen, bandoleer, bedroll, ten days of trail rations, mess kit, gun belt, holster, and replenishes his supply of bullets by picking up 15 cast-iron rounds. Total Cost: $50.
Jan 25, 2020 6:34 pm
OOC:
Considering I'm lame, I will probably want a horse, just so I don't have to limp around all the time. I'll make a full list of items tomorrow!
Jan 25, 2020 7:47 pm
OOC:
You all have $500 in addition to whatever you brought with you. :)
Jan 25, 2020 7:48 pm
OOC:
Horses will be issued to everyone. No need to purchase one.

Can I get the weights for the Colt Dragoon Pistol and the Henry Rifle? Also the buckskin leather armor and chaps?

The Colt Dragoon Pistol weighs in at 4 lbs and the Henry Rifle at 7 lbs. The buckskin armor weighs 5 lbs and the chaps weigh 6 lbs.

And cast iron ammo works for both robots and squishier targets?
Jan 27, 2020 3:30 am
OOC:
If you’re asking me, then yes, I would say it is just a costly round of ammo compared to standard, but would get the job done against a fleshly target as well.

The main purpose of this scene is to just simply gear up with whatever you feel your character may need PLUS anything you previously brought with you to the fort. From here we will move on into the actual adventure very soon. :) Please drop any questions or whatnot you may have.

Monte looks over the guns. His Springfield has served him well over the years. It's durable and trustworthy. But it weighs eleven pounds and took a long time to load. As he turns the fancy-fandangled Henry Rifle in his hands he feels guilty and ashamed for his covetousness. But the rifle and the Dragoon pistol together weigh the same as his Springfield, the Henry's range is said to out-distance his old Springfield, and it holds 17 shots... Ashamed at feeling like a kid in a candy store, he sets his old reliable Springfield on the graying gentleman's counter. "This is a good rifle, an' 'as served me well. But I git the feelin' I'm gonna be needin' something a bit slicker for a while, an' it's a bit too heavy everthin' I want. I'd be 'bliged if you take care o' it for me, and maybe you won't 'ave issued it out to anyone afore I git back to collectin' it after this is over with."
OOC:
Monte's going to get rid of his Springfield and it's 50 rounds of shot, and take a new Henry Rifle instead. He also grabs a pair of buckskin leather and chaps, and a rifle holster for the horse he rides.
Monte looks at the cast iron ammo for a bit, hefting a bullet in his hand, but shakes his head. I'm curious 'bout these, but eighteen pounds fer a couple dozen rifle bullets jes' ain't economical fer the distance I gotta feelin' we may be coverin' Likely break muh back afore I even git in my firs' fight. Les' jes' hope rifle will do the trick..."

Roland turns in his requisition form excitedly awaiting what new gear this expedition could promise.

Galvanic Knuckles: These oversized, rubber-lined gauntlets are outfitted with sparking electrical nodes along the knuckles that deliver quite a wallop when activated. Each gauntlet has three charges capable of adding +1d8 electrical damage to any unarmed Fighting attack and also protects the wearer from potential self-electrocution. (5 lb, $120)
Breastplate (sheet-iron, +3 Armor, covers torso) - $200
Chaps (+1 Armor, covers legs, +1 to Riding rolls to resist Fatigue) - $4
Double-Barrel Shotgun (12/24/48, 1-3d6 Damage, RoF 1-2, Shots 2) - $35
?Shotgun ammo
Matches (box of 250) - $0.50
Lantern (5' radius) - $2
Lantern Oil (per gallon) - $0.50
Bipod/Tripod 2lb, 100$
Rifle w/Holster - $5
Bed Roll - $4
Canteen - $1
Sledgehammer (Str+d6 Damage, Improvised Weapon) - $3
Dynamite (X5) (per stick - $3) (15$)
Trail Rations X10 (per day - $0.50) 5$

Total Cost: 495$
OOC:
Depending on the cost for shotgun rounds I'll probably have to change things up a bit. I might forgo the breastplate in that case but let me know and I'll adjust. Also sorry I haven't been super responsive lately, life gets crazy and hectic.

Each of your characters has had a similar encounter as listed below.
Quartermaster Gilliard looks you all over as you gather your equipment and keeps a running list. As you each gather your supplies he instructs you to head over to the Training Grounds where the First Sergeant is waiting to run you through a few things.

"Well, now you're all geared up. Head over and see the First Sergeant, he wants to see what you know and...what you don't know.
If you'll be needing anything else from me...well, you know where to find me.
Jan 28, 2020 2:18 pm
[ +- ] Equipment
Collie strolls through the armory. The different weapons they have here intrigue her more than anything else she finds. She definitely keeps her dad's gun with her but she also picks up one of the fancy ones they got here and she can't resist a magnetic harpoon. If I want to inspect those cogs we're fighting, I'll definitely need to roll one in for inspection, she tells herself as she puts the weapon on her requisition sheet.
For the rest of the equipment, she just looks what everyone else is taking and hopes she doesn't forget anything important.

Once equipped, she heads to the First Sergeant with the other recruits as instructed.
Jan 28, 2020 3:32 pm
Monte shrugs on all his gear. It's approaching the limit he can carry over long distances comfortably, but it'll have to do. He stops and ponders for a moment...
OOC:
How big are these robots? Are we talking Iron Giant big? 100 feet tall? 50 feet? 10?
Jan 28, 2020 5:16 pm
OOC:
As far as what your character's would've probably heard...probably nothing that big...like towering above the trees, etc. Moreso animal and human sized.

OOC:
If you've geared up and made your way to the Training Grounds, proceed on here, otherwise indicate you're not yet at the Training Grounds.
As you approach the Training Grounds and get a closer look, you notice it is the southwestern corner of Fort Ohm. It's about 100 yards long by 50 yards wide, mostly comprised of dirt with various obstacles and what you could call, "targets" and various training dummies. You might also note that not far from the training grounds are the stables. The area is somewhat blocked off by large logs laid on their sides, to provide a sort of perimeter from the rest of the fort's interior.

Standing at what could be deemed the "front" of the Training Grounds is the First Sergeant. "Well, I reckon it's time to see what ya'll can do. And, if I can send ya out without worryin' bout' you not lastin' 10 seconds. I see ya got your gear, and now I'm gone see if ya can follow some orders and do some simple soldierin'."

Another gentleman approaches from the rear. A taller man with a receding hairline, but has a somewhat distinguished look and wears some very nice spectacles. The First Sergeant goes on, "But before we do, I'm gone get Dr. Calvin here to tell ya what he knows about those damn walking tin cans. They're all your's doc."
OOC:
Some of your characters might know him as Master Calvin per Coppertop 5, etc...
Dr. (Master) Calvin steps up, "Greetings, to some of you, again. Those I have not personally spoken to, hello and I hope the gear that some of you have acquired serves you well in the field! I think the first thing you must know is that the robots, as far as our experience has taught us, are impervious to normal ammunition. Hence, the cast-iron armor-piercing rounds you will need, in the unfortunate chance you run into one of them. The next thing is that there is more than one type of them out there. Thus far we have briefly studied and identified four, but we have heard of as many as 10 varieties. Each one of them has unique capabilities, so far as our resources show, and it is crucial for you to act accordingly and with the knowledge of those abilities. The four we know about are these..." He passes around a flyer, much in the style of a Wanted poster.
[ +- ] Know Killer Bots
He proceeds, "Familiarize yourself with these four. I'll be happy to answer any questions after you've looked these over."
OOC:
Feel free to RP here as you wish and we will move forward.
OOC:
If you read this prior to my corrections, SO SORRY, please forgive the Type-o's. lol Long day yesterday.

After studying the pamphlet for a while, Collie puts it into her pocket. Putting a hand on the harpoon she took from the armory, she grins and whispers to whoever is standing next to her: "Looks like I'll be the first to haul in a fifth kind. This'll be great."
Jan 29, 2020 12:16 pm
"I like your spunk Collie." Vivian smiles a bit.

She reads over the pamphlet trying to familiarize herself with the different types.

"Looks like you should have some kind of ground explosive for the Diablo."
Jan 29, 2020 8:02 pm
OOC:
Hmm... Monte fought in the robot wars, having been stuck on thew east coast when everything kicked off, but I was under the impression that these robots were a lot bigger than this. Actually, Monte would like to visit with the gentleman with the gray hair and glasses again, and inquire about either buying some heavy bear traps, or arranging for the fort's blacksmith to build him some. Also, is it assumed that our horses can carry some weight? I don't see why Monte would carry a bedroll on his back all the time in he has a horse than can bear some load, for example...
Jan 29, 2020 10:17 pm
Doc's eyes are glowing as he looks down at the pamphlet, tracing the descriptions with his finger as he reads them. "This'll be great. Different applications will give me an opportunity to refine my technology!" He pulls his watch out of his pocket in a nervous tic, "These guys figured out how to punch through metal, too, or do we still got the advantage there?" He bangs the breastplate he'd just picked up at the requisition to clarify his concern.

some are indeed quite large... maybe Monte saw one that Dr. Calvin doesn’t know much about! :). And yes, your horses can certainly carry the brunt of your gear.
Jan 30, 2020 11:44 pm
Dr. Calvin addresses Eskaton's question, "Some have been known to penetrate such armors. Especially the likes of the one we've dubbed Los Diablos. Granted it would have to be a solid strike upon you."
Jan 31, 2020 3:42 pm
"I 'sume you got a blacksmith on the forte's premises? I'd like to enquire of his capabilities for makin' some heavy bear traps."
Jan 31, 2020 10:06 pm
Dr. Calvin says, "You would assume correctly Mr. Colter." He points in a direction just north of the stables. You see a small stone building with a wooden door and a decent amount of smoke coming out of the chimney. Beside the building is a lean-to with various tools and equipment sitting under it. "You'll want to speak to Mr. Deitrich Godwin. He will take care of your requests."
Jan 31, 2020 10:24 pm
The First Sergeant steps up, "That'll be enough Doc (Calvin). If you all need somethin' with him see him after our little show and tell. Now, I need to make sure of two things. One, that you can shoot...or at least shoot enough to hit something you mean to hit. Two, that you can ride a horse without breaking your neck. If you can do those two things you're fit to volunteer for this outfit. If not, well, you might need to take your arse back as far east as you can go."

He leads you all over to what would be considered the shooting range with some simple targets out front. "Simple, squeeze off a round and successfully shoot the target."

"Now, who's up first?"
OOC:
At this point I'm going to simply try to draw cards to showcase Initiative. I'm just going to use the order to draw based on the order of your characters listed on the Game's screen. Therefore, the draw order (left to right) will be Monte, Collie, Doc Murph, John, Vivian, and Roland.

Deck Draws

Initiative (Shooting Range)
5 of Diamonds
8 of Clubs
Ace of Spades
Jack of Clubs
4 of Hearts
Black Joker
Jan 31, 2020 10:27 pm
The order drawn is:

If you have abilities or Edges to employ to change Initiative, please indicate.

Doc Murph
John Gregory
Collie Welles
Monte Colter
Vivian
Roland Stubbs - - Drew a Joker - - You may act whenever you want and add +2 to your Trait and/or Damage rolls for your turn.
OOC:
It wasn't extremely important to draw Initiative here, just kind of wanted to experiment with it. So, if everyone is good, we will roll with it.

OOC:
I'm fine with the order as is, I can wait my turn
"Finally the fun stuff. I been itchin' to busy my trigger finger again." Roland flashes a genuinely excited grin as he awaits his turn to prove his worth. There is one thing I'd like to look into first. "Y'all can have at it. Just got one thing to look up on. He turns to head towards the armory.

Upon arrival he addresses the guard on duty. Mornin' again. I come to realize after gearing up that i find myself in a bit of a predicament. Spent a little extra on rations for ol' Oliver here." The cat peers it's head out of Rolands overcoat. "Hungry fella that he is, he's liable to eat me out of house and home. Anyhow it seems like I must not have calculated enough for a couple cast iron cartirdges. I reckon I won't be very much helpful without em. Seeing as how this expedition seems so important I figure you might be able to look the other way while a couple extra cartridges went missing... For the good of the cause and all.
OOC:
I'd like to roll to see if I can get some cast iron shotgun rounds sans credits. I intially would like to roll persuasion however I have a D8 in intimidate that would be better as long as I'm not rolling against something higher because it's intimidation. Not sure how it works but can I know beforehand what 'm rolling "against" so to speak. If I can try one and then the other would be ideal but if not then I'll just roll intimidation. let me know and I'll post a roll
Feb 1, 2020 12:55 am
Doc will step up and hold the dragoon up with his elbow at a right angle. Taking a careful stance and stiff aim, he lets a bullet fly at the target.

not sure if I roll a third time in this kind of situation lol. That is hella lucky, damn.

OOC:
There's a "Reroll Aces" option you can toggle when you post your roll. It'll automatically reroll a die if it hits its max. And you can reroll it as many times as you hit the max, so keep going.
You also get to roll an additional D6 with every action and then take the better result. I don't think it'll be relevant here after two explosions of your D8 but still...
Collie looks at her daddy's gun while waiting her turn. She's not a bad shot or anything so she doubts she'll mess this up. But it is a bit unfair that mindless gunplay and some silly riding are what they test recruits on instead of machine expertise, which is clearly the superior and more useful skill.

This is taking into account all of your exploding rolls and such.
The guard looks mortified and a bit off his rocker. You may or may not notice a wet spot trickle down the side of his left leg... "Ummm, yes...yes Sir. In fact, maybe you can take all the ammunition you need! I'll be sure to let Quartermaster Gilliard know of your dire situation."

Unhappy with being forced to participate in this dog and pony show, Monte steps to the target with his new Henry rifle, still not one hundred percent confident about the feel. For a moment he wishes he'd left his trusty Springfield. He sights the rifle and fires...

Despite hitting the target, a look of disappointment crosses over his face and the placement of the shot and type unfamiliar feel of the rifle in his hands, and he makes note to retrieve his Springfield and shot back. He'll burden his horse with it if nothing else.

Returning from the Armoury with some new gotten gains, Roland sees that it is his turn up. He grins with excitement, stands and faces the target, pistol at the ready. He takes a breath and lets loose a round.

After Collie sends off her first shot the First Sergeant says, "Now, Collie...we're going to have to..." and before he can continue she interjects and then sends off her second shot. Ping! It hits just low of the central "bullseye" and makes a satisfactory ping.

"Hmmm...Well, I can't negate your seemin' ability to rectify a failed attempt... I reckon you'll do. Maybe you have other expertise. I just want to make sure you can hit something...well, at least half the time." He gives Collie a bit of a smirk. "Next!"

Vivan steps up and squeezes off her round. Ping! "Well! I'll be damned. The first direct hit!" Vivian's round smacked the red "bullseye" dot on the large square metallic target. "Now that's some fine shootin' miss. Next!", the First Sergeant comments.

A seemingly disgruntled Monte steps up without even waiting for the First Sergeant's call. Ping! Hitting the bottom right he indeed makes the shot. "That will do sir. Next!"

Looking over at Roland who is walking up..."Well, I hope you'll be sticking with your outfit in the field without wonderin' off. Now, get on up here. Your turn."

A grinning Roland walks up and lets loose a shot. Ping! "Damn! Another direct hit. You all might have some potential after all!" Roland is possibly delighted that he too nailed the "bullseye."

The First Sergeant proceeds, "Well, seems like most of you..." he eyes Collie ... "can handle a firearm just fine." Motioning over to the stables. "Now, let us try a bit of riding."

Just about the time you all make your way over to the stables a soldier runs up to the First Sergeant.

"First Sergeant! First Sergeant!...." Out of breath the slightly heavy set young man passes the First Sergeant a telegram. Huffing and puffing, beforehand he does manage a salute but almost collapses. "Calm yourself son. What's ailing you?"

The soldier replies, "They caught one Sir. They caught one!"

Collie scoffs at these words. "Other expertise?", she repeats with an offended tone in her voice. "Oh believe me, you will see my other expertise. And you will eat those words."

At these words, Collie's eyes light up. "They caught one of these cogs? Now I just need to get my hands on it!"

"I wan't to see what one of these things looks like too." She says to Collie.

"Any chance we can see what you caught Sergeant ?"
Feb 4, 2020 11:23 pm
The First Sergeant looks up to you lot, "Well, who's not ready? Gather yourselves, do what you need to do. Meet me in HQ in 1 hr. Consider yourselves all full-fledged and enlisted Tesla Ranger recruits."

He begins to walk off with the messenger.
OOC:
It seems he is indeed distraught a bit and shocked by the news and is moving hastily. You all have just started what was going to be some sort of initiation or training procedure...I leave the last hour in the fort to you all, doing whatever you might need to tighten up loose ends. Looks like the mission is approaching!

"You've gotta let us have a look at this thing, Sarge." Doc joins Collie and Vivian, champing at the bit to get a look at the robot.
Feb 5, 2020 3:38 am
Stopping in his tracks, he turns to Doc Murph, "You'll get your chance. They've caught one down in Uncanny Valley. I'll brief you soon." He turns and continues to mutter to the soldier as they make their way towards HQ.
Feb 5, 2020 12:14 pm
OOC:
I leave the next hour to you all. If you need to speak with anyone or see anybody prior to meeting in the HQ...or if you're ok to move on to the HQ we will. The first sergeant seemingly rushed off to address the matter.
Feb 5, 2020 1:54 pm
OOC:
I'm fine with moving ahead. Collie would still want to talk to Master Calvin about examining Coppertop but with the prospect of looking at a 'wild' cog, she'd wait with that request for now.
Feb 5, 2020 2:01 pm
Vivian is going to be going over her new equipment and adjusting the sight and otherwise preoccupied till they meet later.
Feb 5, 2020 3:19 pm
John follows the others, also interested in getting a close-up look at the enemy.
Feb 5, 2020 5:27 pm
"Alright! Let the party begin." Roland excitedly follows the group onward toward the new development. Oliver pops his head out of Rolands overcoat as if somehow understanding what just happened. "Come on Ollie, let's go meet the enemy." then yelling to the rest of the group. "I CALL FIRST DIBS IF THIS THING TURNS HOSTILE! WHOOH!"
OOC:
I'm all in for letting the ventures begin. Can't wait to see how we all interact in the field haha.

Monte returns to the armory. "Turns out I'll be takin' my old springfield back off yer hands, if y'don' mind. An' muh fifty roun's o' shot please, as well as thirty roun's o' that cast iron shot, a shot bag, and another rifle holster for my horse as well." Then he heads to the blacksmith.
OOC:
Monte wants to buy a half dozen bear traps. Can you give me a ballpark what they will cost to have the blacksmith make them, and how much they weigh?

OOC:
Let's say about 4 lbs in weight. Perhaps the cost will be $20 each.

OOC:
When you are done with your personal objectives prior to going to the HQ, read on. Otherwise, indicate whatever it is you would like to do up to that point, etc.
As you make your way back to the Headquarters you see a bit of a stir amongst the people of the fort. People are moving back and forth with a bit more "purpose." Upon entering the same conference room as you were in previously, during initiation, Copptertop 5 again greets you. "Please have a seat. You will be briefed momentarily."

As you find a seat within the conference room you may notice a group of officials upfront. Captain Rick Patton is having what appears to be a somewhat intense conversation with First Sergeant Jacques Laurent (who was previously putting you through a trial), the soldier that delivered the telegram and Master Calvin.
OOC:
To gain any insight on their conversation would require a roll or two. Otherwise, you will be briefed as follows.
The room quietens down and the officials are giving you all a bit of an inquisitive look. The First Sergeant walks up to small podium and addresses you, "Well, ranger recruits...it appears we must cut our trainin' short. We just received word that the nearby settlement, Uncanny Valley, captured a newer "shootist" type robot by the name of Bot Masterson. Now, before we discuss that, you may or may not know that Uncanny Valley is a new settlement to the west of the Mississippi River. It's a good three days right from here. Uncanny Valley was one of the first new settlements that the National Army helped established. We figured that the robots were slightly pulling back west after the line held so well here on the Mississippi. Well...the settlement has been the victim of sporadic skirmish-like attacks. So, a few months ago we dispatched a small group of Tesla Rangers down there to assist the local forces and to help enforce national law. Turns out this new bot invaded the community, almost indistinguishable from one of the Babbage Bots like Copptertop 5 over there." He motions to the cog. "Captain Patton and myself feel confident in dispatching you immediately to Uncanny Valley to retrieve and safely transport Bot Masterson back here. With that, please give your attention to Dr. Calvin." He motions to Master Calvin. "Doc...."

Master Calvin steps up to the podium. "Indeed it is of the utmost importance that we receive this robot for study. The very scant information we have about this robot won't be of much help, but I will tell you that it has as much sentience as any of the Babbage bots, like Copptertop 5 and perhaps more. These units are great infiltrators and have fooled several settlements only to end up shooting half the population before fleeing. It is apparent they have a clear sense of self preservation."

Captain Patton walks up to the podium. "Thank you, doctor. Consider this your test mission. Succeed here and you will earn your badges. As mentioned, the journey is three days. You are to travel to Uncanny Valley, make contact with the Tesla Rangers there, receive the bot in an armored cart, and safely return here. Finally delivering the bot to Dr. Calvin. That will be all."

The First Sergeant closes with, "Gather your supplies, do your final checks. Meet Mr. Dodson at the stables to retrieve your horse or a horse of the fort. Are there any questions?"
OOC:
What would you like to do at this point?
Feb 7, 2020 2:13 am
Gathering his gear, John proceeds to see Mr. Dodson about a horse.
Feb 7, 2020 6:43 am
Monte follows John, hauling his new gear with him.
Feb 7, 2020 7:22 am
Now that sounds like a mission worth doing, Collie thinks. She was worried these gunslingers here would just ask her to go out and shoot everything that moves and looks like metal. She's glad her first mission will be more sophisticated than that.

She follows the other recruits to go and get her horse.
Feb 7, 2020 12:25 pm
Vivian smiles, "Well now, this is real life training. See you again in about a week Doc, with your newest patient." giving a wink she walks off with the others to get her horse.
Feb 7, 2020 12:59 pm
"Do we know whether the bot haz been captured and neutralized or simply captured?" Doc Murph asks, standing up and slinging his gun belt over one shoulder. "And how much damage did it cause 'fore it got caught?"
Feb 7, 2020 2:20 pm
Master Calvin addresses the question, "If you don't mind First Sergeant, I'll take that one. Uncanny Valley is equipped, as is our fort, with Tesla Towers that disrupt enemy bots ability to operate. Unlike the cogs made by Babbage Calculations and such, the enemy bots have not yet figured a way to protect themselves from the "EMP" emitting from the towers. This captured bot began to malfunction when the towers were activated at sunset, as they are here. This led the local Tesla group to capture the bot and indeed confirmed it was not a Babbage bot. There was no damage reported. It has been disarmed to the best of their ability and is being held in an armored transport wagon."

Arriving at the stables you see a selection of horses, not unlike stables you would be familiar with of the time. The smells of hay and the common "smells" associated with stables assault your nostrils, but not in an uncommon manner.

For those of you that brought your horse, you will find them well taken care of and that Mr. Dodson is a true animal lover.

"Well hey there. Fine animals, fine animals indeed," Mr. Dodson refers to the horses some of your trotted in on. "All fine and well. Will you all be needin' them today?"
Feb 7, 2020 11:25 pm
"Aye, we sure will, Mr. Dodson. We've got an assignment, need to ride out post haste." Doc walks over to his horse, who he'd named Butternut, and pats her on the head. "Boy, she's lookin' fat and happy. I do appreciate it Mr. Dodson, I'm afraid it'll be the last time for a good minute either of us get to sleep in comfort. C'mon, girl. It's time to get you saddled up." Doc Murph starts to saddle Butternut up, whistling happily.
Feb 8, 2020 8:57 pm
Monte looks at the animals, wondering which ones been assigned to him.
Feb 8, 2020 9:04 pm
Mr. Dodson walks over to Monte. "Well mister. How about this beauty?" He points to a chestnut horse. She is about 950 lbs and ready to go! He pats her on the neck a bit and she seems quite tame and ready. "She has seen a bit of warfare so shouldn't spook to easy. Her name is Bigsby."
Feb 9, 2020 10:12 pm
Whad'ya got for me?" John asks, not being overly concerned. It would be nice just to have a horse under him.
Feb 10, 2020 12:02 pm
In response to John's inquiry, "Well, I reckon you can take Sabre. She is a good ol' American Paint Horse and quite a loyal mount." You see a very nice, about 1000 pound American Paint Horse with a light brown and white color scheme.
Feb 10, 2020 2:29 pm
With a nod of thanks, John slips one foot into the stirrup and mounts up.
