E1S1-Vision Quest

Once again Azur had that dream-vision, a young humanoid wolf girl that she cannot recall ever meeting but seemed to be a friend, and then that huge dark-skinned humanoid with four arms advancing on her menacingly reaching for her while the girl screamed from somewhere behind it. The flash of her lightsaber, then it ended and she woke. It was never clear to her if it ended and then she awoke or if she awoke and caused it to end. Either way it always left her unsettled and they were getting more frequent. This gave her a sense of anxiety or urgency it was hard to tell which as she had so much trouble discerning possible futures from inevitable futures. Perhaps her mentor would know, or least help her understand what she ought to do.

The trek to Nerf Town was fairly long taking many days to complete as she was located in the northern hemisphere while Nerf Town was located in the southern hemisphere. Still she had long since learned how to navigate the extremely rough terrain and avoid most of its predatory inhabitants or deal with them if she had to. So over all the trip was a nice exercise in endurance. Still she had never been to Nerf Town and was not actually fully prepared for the stench. For while the planet had its own background level of stench to it Nerf Town far exceeded this due to the concentration of Nerf beasts and hides.

Still the Nerf Herders are a fairly friendly lot as they grow up learning to help one another and this just seems to naturally extend to strangers. She was able to not only find accommodations with a friendly family but she was able to pick up on some of the more major events such as the Emperor was rumored to be dead and the Empire was in disarray. However it was not clear how long ago that occurred nor if it were really true. Especially since the empire had not even visited this out of the way planet since the destruction of that northern facility. Which she was able to piece together from the stories and the little bit information she'd been able to find amongst those ruins. After a few days of rubbing shoulders with the locals a freighter ship arrived. This was a time of much activity for the community causing a sort of impromptu trading festival of sorts to spontaneously erupted.

The Drabatan looks at Azure and its eyes open a bit more then without taking its eyes off of Azure he points off to his left and behind towards a blue skinned man who was facing partially away and talking with some locals.

The Pantoran turns to Azur his eyes seem to show some excitement then narrow a bit before relaxing and seeming slightly annoyed. Then as here words register perhaps, one corner of his mouth curls up and his eyes convey... mischief perhaps, "Provide help you say. Okay," he nods, "you help Dak over there" he points over at the Drabatan you spoke to just moments ago, "with the Nerfs and I will let you ride on the ship to Formos."

Helping with the Nerfs. She got the easy way in she tought. Could have probably asked for more credit she had but no.

She walked back to Dak and say with a smile: "Hello Dak, i'm here to give you a hand for whatever you need me for. I'm Azur by the way."

The local nods and motions for Azur to follow him over to that paddock. As they walk to the paddock the local asks, "So you've worked with Nerfs before, I ask only because you do not much look the type."

Azur was starting to get the impression that she was expected to perhaps fail, which meant perhaps that captain did not really want her aboard his ship. However, her short stay with the locals had basically informed her that traders where not very frequent and it could be a long while before another one touched down.

As Azur makes the comment "I must try to do it" the voice of her master echoes in her memory, "Do. Or, do not. There is no try."

The local nods and says, "Ah well the Nerfs can be rather stubborn when they do not like something, and they do not like getting into ships. Now if you were an experienced Nerf herder, well then you could easily get your own Nerfs to do most of what you want them to do but that is because you have created a bond with with them since they were youngins and know how to influence each one to its liking. For you see there are subtle things you can do to influence a Nerfs attitude but they require a lot of training to understand which to use and and when as they can be rather sensitive creatures. So since you do not know how to influence a Nerf that means the only option I can think of that you can use is the electroprod. However you will have to crank-it up to full power to get them to even notice it as they have rather thick hides. Then while you can get them to move that way they are just as likely to move in the wrong direction as they are the direction you want them to go. So you are going to be extremely busy proding one quickly moving to a position to then re-prod it and repeating this until you have gotten the Nerf to move where you want it to move which means," he glances at the paddock, "with that many Nerfs you are going to really tired by the time you get that done, which assumes that you can even get it done. Now if I had to hazard a guess, I would say they do not want you on board that ship if getting on means you have load this lot of Nerfs and they are just doing it for the laughs. I would help but we do not load living Nerfs on board ships, as they are our livelihood and it pains are hearts to do so and the Nerfs stupid as they are seem to sense this and they get really agitated."

Azur places her hand on the massive forehead of the Nerf in front of her and feels the force flow through her. She is then nearly surprised by the large bellow the beast puts forth which is accompanied by chorus of like bellows from the others in the paddock and soon she is surround by Nerfs each jockeying for position to nuzzle and smell her with the side affect of her beginning to smell a lot like them. After a few minutes of this, where Azur is the center of intense interest the small herd calms down. The big Nerf she had touched was still there its big eyes almost conveying a seeming sense of love.

Once the small herd calms down and disperses a little she can see that a crowd of locals have gathered, nay surrounded the paddock as if some kind of major event just took place.

The Nerf responds with low bellow and moves his head in an apparently affectionate manner. As she moves towards the paddock gate the Nerf gives a short bellow and the other Nerfs begin to follow, as the reach the gate the local that had talked to her walked the gate open wide for her, the look of astonishment on his face was easily read. The Nerfs in turn followed Azur without much further prompting they seemed to be willing to go wherever she lead. Including right up into the paddock that was setup inside the cargo bay.

As she passed Dak he too seemed rather amazed and simply had stopped he had been doing to watch her go buy with small Nerf herd in tow. Perhaps even more amazed was Pantoran Captain who also just watched her escort the herd into the freighter's cargo bay.

Once the herd was in the paddock in the cargo bay he calls out from near the entrance, "Well, you did not strike me as a Nerf whisperer, but fair is fair welcome aboard we will be departing tomorrow hopefully but it will depend a bit on the whether." He glances out and up at the sky, "That is unless your a storm whisperer as well." He said the last half-jokingly but looked for confirmation to see if she was or not.

"No... no... we got the rest. Frankly though I have to admit you just saved me a day or two so this ride will be waiting for you tomorrow that I promise."

When she walks out of the ship she is met by a throng of locals of which eventually the ones she had got to know helped to separate her from the throng, and as they walk with her they explain that there are very few Nerf Whispers so she just became an instant celebrity within the village. As for the stink, apparently it actually does not wash all the easily and she would have to soak in a special bath for several hours get get most of it off. This implied that she as not going to get the full stink off her for a while. It was the reason Nerf herders were considered so low on the social order but it was something Nerf herders just became accustomed to and it was fairly good and peaceful life which in the universe these days was a fairly rare occurrence.

Once away from the throngs and getting prepared for the several hour soak in some kind of flavorful smelling brine they ask her, "Now we respect your privacy but we cannot help be curious why all this time that you did not mention that you were a Nerf Whisperer? I mean we do not mean to be impolite so if you would rather not say we would understand we just cannot help but be very curious as it is not everyday one actually gets to meet a Nerf Whisper of your caliber."

There was a moment of seemingly stunned silence as the family seemed to try and process exactly what she just said, then one the youngins asked what seemed to be the question everyone else might have wanted to ask but were not sure how, "Wow are you a Jedi like... like that Luke Skywalker guy that killed the evil emperor?" All eyes were on Azur in anticipation of the answer making the situation a bit awkward socially speaking, especially for someone who had been pretty much living mostly on her own for such a long time.

The boy looked almost as confused as the others, "But you are to nice to be a dark Jedi." He looks at her for a bit more and then is face brightens, "Oh I get it your just different kind of good Jedi, right?" The boys simplistic way of looking at things did sort of define what she was even though it was not exactly correct. Of course a dark Jedi would have been a Sith so that was also a rather simplistic but fairly accurate description. Further, the actual nuances to it all to a non-force user would probably be rather hard to understand thus their confusion. So perhaps being a different kind of good Jedi was not a bad way to describe what she was as she did draw upon the force through a good filter as opposed to an evil one.

Seeing the confusion she cause with her explainations:"Don't worry son, I may not be a Jedi not i can assure you I am a good guy. I fought with the rebeillion too before coming here. And it is the reason i leave this planet for now. To go out and restore the balance in the galaxy."

The boy seems even more excited, "Wow your Rebel too, yeah your definitely a good Jedi but hmm... not dark, not a Jedi..." he ponders a moment looking at Azur and his face lights up once more, "I know your a Blue Jedi a bright Blue Jedi like I hear the sky gets when there are no storms. Wow so you are going out to mop up the rest of those evil empire folk, that is wow. Yeah that's what I want to do when I get older be a hero like you and Luke Skywalker. It's too bad your leaving though you could have taught me and I could have gone with you."

OOC: if she doesn't have any interactions with the ithers she will spend the day to remove the stench and prepare herself for the departure tomorrow. Meditation will take place in the evening before bed.

The long soak in the pleasantly smelling heated brine was not to bad expect that she had to periodically completely submerge for as long as she could hold her breath as the stink was literally everywhere. Water was supplied to keep her from getting dehydrated as she slowly simmered in the pot. Once lady of house indicated that the session was complete and Azur had alighted and showered she could tell that a majority of the stench was gone but it would be a while before it was completely gone. Her clothing which had been tended to was also mostly stench free. She either had not met any actual Nerf herders during her stay or they had learned how to not get the stench on them because she had not encountered anyone with the level that she had acquired.

The remaining evening went uneventfully and morning came as drearily as ever. Her newly found admirer was their to great with a question, "I understand how there is dark in light as that would be shadows, but I am not understanding how their can be light in dark can you explain that one."

Breakfast was good as always, and she was soon on her way to the ship which only stayed on the ground just long enough for the appropriate break in the weather to allow them to leave the planet with minimal issues. She had been given a small room and quick tour of the ship but during the flight she is pretty much left on her own as the other two settled into their usual routines.
