Step 1:
Amalié Oronde was born on the planet of Kuat as the third of four children, and second daughter, to wealthy board member of Kuat Drive Yards André Oronde and respected socialite Relleyna Oronde. Her family had, and continues to be, avid supporters of the Imperial regime. With one exception.
Amalié always had a curious mind when compared to her peers. Unlike her elder brother (André Oronde Jr.) she was not content to simply lavish in the wealthy lifestyle around them. Amalié was far more interested in the massive ships Kuat Drive Yards pumped out as fast as they could make them. Not so much in how they worked per say, but the sheer power of them. The gravitas with which they prowled the stars. It became her fervent wish to sail on those ships. Moreover, she became determined to command one of those ships: The Star Destroyer.
In truth, her drive was little more than a child's dream. Power, authority, adventure. She frequently found herself at the docks pestering Junior Officers of the Empire or mechanics about the ships, often gaining allowances because of her last name. Her parents never really approved and attempted to dissuade her interests. Unfortunately for them, as with most teenagers, Amalié merely pursued her interests clandestinely. It was on one of these visits that she encountered Commodore Sonora Holt. Commodore Holt was an up and coming officer being assigned her first command of a small Victory Class Star Destroyer. She, being somewhat of a control freak, had insisted on being at Kuat early to oversee construction. Holt and Amalié encountered each other entirely by chance, and Holt immediatly recognized potential in the girl.
Over the next little while Holt began mentoring Amalié and fostering her dream for capital command. Holt went so far as to write a letter of recommendation to the Academy on Corulag for Amalié to begin a career as an officer of the Imperial Navy. This recommendation, and some pressure from her father, allowed Amalié to skip the frequent trap of being pulled into the army or stormtrooper core.
_____
It wasn't long into her Academy career that Amalié had her first taste of adventure. On their first training mission on a small frigate as academy students a rebel faction attacked. The rebels mainly used stun rounds, with some exceptions, and where actually there to recruit/rescue Amalié's friend Tevon Dur'allan. Tevon was joining the rebellion and had acquired important information- not sure what that should be, but i felt I needed a touch more reason for the rebels to attack- When one of them recognized Amalié they decided to kidnap her.
- In my mind for her backstory what followed was a short adventure for Amalié that involved this small rebel cell experiencing a schism and fighting. Imperials attacking. And through it all Amalié building a rapport with some good rebels and realizing the darkness of the Empire. Thus joining the rebellion (and hopefully creating the in story reasons for Duty, Obligations, and Morality). I think her friend Tevon probably died but I'm not sold on that. So if our GM wants him as a potential NPC/character/adventure hook we can say he's alive.
____
Now a rebel, Amalié does plan on continuing her training and eventually becoming a Captain of a Capital Ship in the Alliance Navy. She is, however, under scrutiny and holds little (if any) rank at this point.
- I figure she's being placed on the adventure as much to test her loyalty as to use her skills.
- Amalié is a young woman, only about 19 years old or so. Average height, blonde, caucasion, blue eyes. She does die the ends of her hair a cyan-blue and heavy eyeliner (bit of a hipster, this girl). She has the heavy accent (aka. British) of the core worlds.
___
- There's my backstory thoughts. I'm driving towards Commodore because I absolutely adore that career. I don't mind that we don't have a capital ship since the talents can still be handy and I'm more interested in building a character than optimizing.
