Welcome all! I'm new to GMing, and if I'm not mistaken, you are all new to DW! This should work out well.
This will be our "process" as I see it:
Step 1- create a character.
Step 2- world building. This is where we fill in some details on people and places. Relationships are formed. This may take a few days as there's a lot of back and forth to ensure everyone contributes something meaningful to the world. This conversation is a huge part of DW and will continue once we begin playing.
Step 3- The set-up begins and we play!
For the record I am starting completely from scratch. I have nothing prepared as of this moment and look forward to seeing what you all will bring to the table! I ask for your patience as I try this format out.
Creative? I'm, just slightly crazy. Haha! No problem, I am really excited to try this out, barely dipped into this system before, but I wish I have done that.
Let the chaos begin! Feel free to post/respond whenever you want. There is no such thing as "turn order". Everything that happens is going on simultaneously.
Just a note to everyone. I generally can not post during the week days (Eastern US Time) as I'm at work and don't have access (although I occasionally sneak in a simple post from my phone).
Szemely:
Reach just means your weapon can reach up to ten feet. It's mostly used to judge is an action you take with the weapon seems feasible in the narrative. Distances are space is loose in this system, but we have to at least try and do possible and feasible things.
So it sounds like we have three coming in from the door way we entered by and some more from another direction (possibly the owner in there). Plus Mouse trying to steal something without getting killed... this falls into the normal fantasy rpg troupe for me. FYI if Mouse gets stuck I have lose no sleep by tripping these long leggers so he has some quicker stepping stooges to get out of the danger zone. }=q
I'm not gonna lie- I got sucked into a game of Subterfuge on iOS. It is draining my brain and my life right now, but it will be over in a few days and I will swear off it so I can return to pbf and also not get fired.
I've come to the realization that I don't know how to run a One-Shot and have been wracking my brain on how to (eventually) wrap things up while still tying it back to the main plot(s) as established in the lay of the lands. Hmmmm.
Take your time, we don't know the system that well and we have no idea for the most part what all you have to figure out on your side. Besides make Mouse cry...
No worries. Take your time I mean it's not like you'll end it like, you all die of plague the end lets go get pizza.
Don't worry, my Gamma World One shot felt aimless until I just sort of made a few main points for the party to try and hit. You're doing just fine so far. :)
The pizzas contains anchovies, burnt chicken, pineapple, and something resembling lettuce.
*rolls to dice it up, scramble it with eggs, tops with bacon, wraps it in a burrito skin, dips in egg batter then dry corn flake dry breading, deep fries*
Also- For Discern Realities- which question do you want to ask from the list below?
*What happened here recently?
*What is about to happen?
*What should I be on the lookout for?
*What here is useful or valuable to me?
*Who’s really in control here?
*What here is not what it appears to be?
fyi I'll be on 'vacation' out of state starting the 1st going through to the 10th of July. I'll likely have time if I have service to at least keep up on reading threads if they progress but I make no promises on daily postings.
Just a heads up, between a Biker festival in the area a Fleetwood mac cover band this weekend coming to town (No idea who Fleetwood Mac is really but I love my wife so I might end up taking her) and Gen Con next week I'm going to call it I'll be spotty or not posting until after August 9th. Yes this is a blanket statement for all the games I'm in.
