Episode 1 Scene 2b Touristing

Stepping through the door was like stepping from night into day as the interior was akin to a very posh palace interior. Trays and books occasionally floated by moving to and from various patrons lounging within. It was impossible to tell how high the ceiling was because overhead was a mass of fruit bearing vines, clumps of grapes of different varieties hanging from them.

"This is the Garden which takes up the entire first floor, it is where our members relax, read, and eat. The lews are along the outer wall and look like tall bushes also along the outer walls are portals to the lower and upper floors. The two upper floors contain the private rooms for our members and the lower floor contains various labs for conducting experiments and/or cooking recipes. You will need a key to use the portals to access your room and a pre-reserved lab space. So do either of you have any specific questions?"

Egret looked around with curiosity, watching the floating objects and the fanciful decor. It truly was a fascinating establishment, although probably not the most practical one. It almost didn't seem of the same world as the village outside, with its grime and down-to-earth people - and against his better judgement, Egret couldn't help but feel faint hints of suspicion against the inn. But then again, it would be hypocritical of him to only looks at the cover; this place probably was around for years, surely the garrison deemed it safe for the population.

The tiefling paused under one of the lower hanging vines, looking up at the clusters of grapes. "Are these enchanted?" he tilted his head and made a few steps around, to look at the plants from a different angle. "I've heard that there is a person rumored to have vaguely druidic abilities living near the village. Maybe you happened to know some druids of your own?"
OOC:
A check to see if I discern anything magical about the vines themselves, maybe?

Egret eyes the over head vines and while the vines and the fruit seem to be real they are most assuredly not natural. As obviously someone used magic to alter the basic nature of the plants to suit their desires. Still beyond this basic alteration in the plants make up there appeared to be nothing else out of line in how the plants seemed to function and while he did not see them he imagined the ends rested in soil somewhere.

The dark fFolk answered the questions, "No the plants themselves are not magickated, they are natural plants that the Lord of this manor chose to place here for nourishment and ambiance."

"Yes that would be Tagd he comes here from time to time, and his druidic abilities are not vague, he helped the m'Lord with these," he points at the plants above their heads.

Well, this is simply marvelous! What a place you have here! If one might inquire, how much would a room and oh, say, a decent amount of alchemical space be? Would you be interested in taking potions as payment?

"I thank you on m'lords behalf as this is his place not mine. As for room rates the shared room is 1 dragon per day or you can have your own private room for 3 dragons a day conversely you can join the Order and the shared room is free and the private room is reduced to 2 dragons a day. However, as you can imagine belonging to the Order comes with dues which can be paid in coin or service and is based upon ones abilities. The cost of an Alchemical space is based on what you are needing it for, simple non-dangerous reasons 1 dragon per hour, however, complex volatile experiments can go up to 1000 dragons an hour or more. Also I should warn you integrity is at a premium here, if you are ever caught lying or supplying misinformation about something you are doing means you will no longer have access to the labs and may not have access to the house either."

I have no desire to join any organisation at the moment, but perhaps I will once I learn a little more about your intentions, motivations and so fourth. For now, I think I might go for a private room, but I think making the deal can wait until we return from our journey. For now, I bid you good day, and I shall return after our current mission is complete.

The dark fFolk does a slight nod bow of respect, "Very good we do have rooms available and we look forward to answering any questions you might have about the Order." He leads the two back towards the door unless there were any other items brought up.

If there were no more questions or such, he gestures towards the door, "Just step through the door as before and will return to the foyer from whence you came."

While Lex and the fFolk - who never introduced himself, as far as Egret could recall; but then again, neither have they, - were discussing business, Egret slowly wandered around the central area. He was enjoying the presence of so many plants, admiring their intertwining vines and clusters of grapes, musing about the magical changes he could perceive in them. What a peculiar place this inn was, with such obvious enchantments - and complex ones, presumably, if one were to judge by the multitude of floating items around.

Noticing that his companions seemingly reached an agreement, the tiefling headed back towards them. He didn't listen on the conversation, but he hoped that his friend found whatever he came for; Lex wanted to buy... salts, was it? To use against demons, which apparently were in their nearby future; Egret wasn't sure how good of an idea that was, but he relied on Alexander in things that concerned more or less alchemical matters. (Except cooking.)

"This was a curious tour, sir," Egret bowed his head in thanks to the fFolk. "Thank you for welcoming us in this establishment, and I hope you have a wondrous day." The druid turned to Lex. "Shall we go, and catch up with Brindel?"
OOC:
Yup, that's it for me! Good to continue on from here. :D
I think we can just say that Lex bought his salts on the way out?

I said that Lex wanted to purchase 2 one pound bags of fine salt but it must have gotten lost, so I just assumed it happened. As no price was offered I deducted 2 gold coins. Let me know if that is too little.

Okay I do recall that Arina my bad - it slipped my mind because I had to determine the prices for those reagents ;) some things are still a work in progress -- and I address them when they come up -- aka on an as needed basis -- so for now they gave you a special price and sold them to you for just 2gp -- I will update the World Dynamics with a more in depth buying guide and price list

No worries. I've been in your shoes before. It's worse when it happens at the table!
