When outlining your character please post the following:

Step 1: Background (okay basically your story)

Step 2: Choose (or outline) the following :
.....Starting Duty : 5 (from Age of Rebellion)
.....Starting Obligation : 25 (from Edge of the Empire)
.....Starting Morality : 50 (from Force and Destiny)
..........Now the above 3 things have aspects that need to be rolled (and/or chosen but prefer if you rolled at least until you got something that fit the concept unless you really feel strongly about one of them) for each and these need to outlined in your Step 2 -- a Note here for Obligation you can assign the 25 to one Obligation or split it among more than one depending on what you feel your character should have

Also in this step if you check I have altered the choices as follows:
...Choose 4 of the following (cannot choose the same one twice)
--OR--
...Choose 2 of the following (cannot choose the same one twice)

So please explicitly list what you chose for this

Step 3: Select Species -- here just out line the crunch bits that are associated with your the Species you chose along with the Species :)

Step 4: Choosing a Career -- please outline what you did in this step

Step 5: Choosing Specializations -- please outline what you did in this step

Step 6: Invest Character Generation XP -- please outline what you did in this step

Step 7: Determine Derived Attributes (if you know how)

Step 8: Determine Motivations

Step 9: Character Generation Gear & Appearance

Step 10: Post-Character Creation XP Expenditures

Step 11: Post-Character Creation Gear

-------------- The ship thing I will be taking care of based on the number of active players

Okay Vicnet look forward to seeing what you put together but feel free to ask questions so as to help speed up things and better tie you into this game. I am a GM that will work with players to help them develop a more full bodied character.
Mar 8, 2020 11:20 pm
Ok, just so I know (I think I do but don’t want to assume) do you want me to go through each of these steps one by one (making one post for each)?
Mar 8, 2020 11:24 pm
You can do them as individual posts --- or outline them like I did within one single post -- totally up to you -- and if you have questions or want ideas as you go along just let me now

Note there is an element of the force that is not quite Cannon floating around in this game but I am guessing as a Mandalorian type you would not have force abilities but might have their eye set on the Black Blade ;)

Ok! So let’s begin with a quick background: let me know if anything should be changed:

Step 1: Background - Middle Class Struggles

Kag Kraigr was born during the days of the Clone Wars, his father an early supporter of Death Watch under Pre Vizsla. Kag’s early life was spent learning the old ways, being trained with blasters and how to adequately wear armor. When Maul and his Shadow Collective tried to edge the Mandalorians out of power in Death Watch - Kag’s father followed Bo-Katan and later reconciled with the other Mandalorians to try to defend the planet against the Separatists.

For a time there was peace on Mandalore as the two sides worked together to defend the planet. Kag doesn’t remember much about these days, beyond remembering what Mandalore looked like - unspoiled and pristine.

When the Empire came into power, Kag’s father tried to keep the family safe. However, Kag’s father was put to death in 8 BBY when he spoke out against Gar Saxon’s pro-Imperial policies. Kag was 20 years old. He fell in with Clan Wren’s insurrection and began to fight the Empire then. This led to seven years of hard fighting that only began to turn their way when the last surviving members of the Mandalorian Protectors joined Clan Wren’s insurrection and brought the fight to Saxon’s puppets.

Victory was celebrated when Bo-Katan took the title of Mandalore. The people seemed whole for the first time in a long time for Kag.

When Bo-Katan was deposed and the people were scattered, Kag grew disillusioned in fighting for a cause, and spent the years after taking jobs where he could and earning a living as a Hired Gun. After the Battle of Endor, Kag was still operating as a Hired Gun when life began to change again.

Stage 2

Duty: 5 Combat Victory. I feel that this best represents the Mandalorian mindset. If he’s helping the Rebels, working for himself, or anyone else: Kag is going to want to have superior firepower and prove himself to better and more capable soldier.

Obligation: 15 to Oath: Kag is bound to follow the Resol’nare and the Way of Mandalore. These are sacred oaths to him:
[ +- ] Spoiler
10 to Responsibility: Kag feels a responsibility to protect orphans, to rescue them, and to teach them the Way, should they accept it.

Morality (rolling): 50 - roll comes out with "Caution" - this can work for the character who would approach each situation tactically and try to think it out before jumping in.

Stage 4: Career

Realized that "Hired Gun" fits more with the character concept than "Bounty Hunter" so that will be the choice, I’ll make here. I’ve edited the tail end of Kag’s backstory to reflect this, if that’s ok.

Four skills: Athletics, Ranged (Light), Resilience, Vigilance

Stage 5: Specialization

Mercenary Soldier - with Kag’s Mandalorian background this makes the most sense for his skill set.

Two skills: Discipline, Gunnery

Okay will look at this as I get time -- sorry for any delay but this is going to be a very busy week for me

But at a glance its looking pretty good

No problem. I’ll keep moving and make any adjustments you need me to when you get a chance to look at it.

Stage 6: Starter XP Spending

Beginning XP: 115

Brawn to 3: 30
Agility to 3: 30
Will to 3: 30

Ranged (Heavy) 0 to 2: 15
Gunnery 1 to 2: 10

Total used: 115, 0 XP leftover
Mar 9, 2020 7:34 pm
Stage 7: Derived Attributes

Wound Thresh: 11 + 3 (Brawn): 14
Strain Thresh: 10 + 3 (Willpower): 13

Defense: 0 (May change after purchases)

Soak: 3 (Brawn) (May change after purchases)
Mar 9, 2020 7:45 pm
Stage 8: Motivations

No real preference for this. Going to let the dice decide.

EDIT: Well that’s convenient!

Motivation - Cause: Overthrow the Empire
- While Kag isn’t a member of the Rebel Alliance specifically, because of the Imperial occupation of Mandalore, he absolutely hates the Empire and has been known to help Rebels where he can, including taking lower paying jobs from them to oppose the Empire. Similarly, he refuses to work with the Empire.

Rolls

Determining Motivation Table - (1d10)

(5) = 5

Table Specific Roll 1 - (1d100)

(48) = 48

Table Specific Roll 2 (in case motivation table roll is 10) - (1d100)

(30) = 30

Yeah sometimes the dice (or in this case the pseudo-random-number-generator) do seem to be a bit prophetic

Stage 9: Gear & Appearance

Credits: 500 + 2,500 = 3,000

Slugthrower Pistol 100
Slugthrower Rifle 250
Laminate Armor 2,500
Comlink (Handheld) 25
Stimpack x 4: 25 x 4 = 100
Field Ration x 5: 5 x 5: 25

Appearance: Kag stands at around 6 feet, 3 inches tall. Though he’s never seen without his helmet, underneath the helmet is a human with brown hair that has begun to grey at the sides, with hazel eyes, and a square jaw. Due to years of training, his body is well muscles and toned under his armor.

His face, as mentioned, is usually covered by a helmet with the t-shapes visor that is indicative of a Mandalorian creed. Due to the rarity of Beskar, Kag has had to make due with a laminate variant in the same style of traditional Mandalorian armor though he plans on modifying and upgrading his armor as he can. He has painted this armor from its stock white into a blue color. Strapped to his leg is his Slugthrower Pistol, while his Slugthrower rifle is slung over his back with a strap. He has a belt around his waist that contains his comlink, stimpacks and field rations.
