The Hoard Approaches -- Opening in 5e Game

We've got a (long standing now!) 5e game playing through the Red Hand of Doom (one of the most well regarded 3.5 official adventures). We're just at the beginning, so plot wise there isn't much you've missed (the party is now aware of an advancing hoard, and knows that they have at least one - now dead - Dragon ally). One of my players has been absent for some time now so I'm looking to replace him.

The group is level 3 (, I have no experience preference - we can teach as you go. The big requirement is regular posting (my aim is to average a post a weekday, and I hold no expectations for weekend posting).

If you're interested, post here and I'll send an invite. If there's lots of interest, I'll prefer the player who is currently playing in the fewest games here.

So the invitations have vanished, and the invite button doesn't seem to be working... the game should be open, and there's space for both of you so just apply when you can and I'll accept you. Game URL is here.

So I've run a bunch of tests, but I can't seem to break invites; was the autocomplete working? Was clicking the button not doing anything?

What happened was, first I tried to send invites and the first one went fine (from my end anyway), but when I tried to input the username for the second the autocompelte kept just changing it to the name I already invited (I fixed this by refreshing the page). After sending both invites I waited. 2 Days later, both invites had vanished from my game page. I tried to send them again, and when I pushed the button the name wouldn't appear as invited (except sometimes when I refreshed the page?). At this point I gave up and posted here to encourage the prospectives to just find the game.

It could be that the invites vanished because they timed out (can they do that?), or the users actually declined them (on purpose or by accident).

They don't time out, but I'm glad for more information. I'll try to replicate from what you told me.
