What we found out so far:

Szymon von Eltik was meeting an unnamed mercenary about some fairly standard affair. She has worked for Eltik before it is assumed she is trustworthy, but her involvement can't be excluded. Szymon went to Iris Station in his own ship which is still docked according to Iris' port records.

He checked into the Sapphire Hotel with two bodyguards, Felicia Traynor and Andreas Wolter, which is also where the meeting was supposed to take place. Szymon liked frequenting the 'professionals' so he had an agreement with his bodyguards so they let him slip out for a few hours to do his thing in private. Last time, he didn't return. The hotel barman recognised him and confirmed that Szymon came down a couple of days ago to get wasted and and left with one of the professionals. These girls usually come in around lightdown. It is unclear if Szymon keeps a list of his "professional meetings", but likely not.

The bodyguards agreed with having Szymon out of sight because he had a locator implant but he (or someone else) managed to disable it using a second input scrambler device. Szymon isn't supposed to know how to do that, but his sister, Katarzyna, knows how to. The implant was traced and shut down. This was not a counter hack as it was later found at a clinic without battery in one of the station's worse districts.

❌ It looks like Szymon was not the one to attached the second device, though he may have been. If so, why what what was Katarzyna role?

The clinic is both close to the spaceport, where Szymon's ship should be docked and Paz Forster's hotel, the Bullseye. Paz, nicknamed Smoke Fragrance, has a record on Eltik's internal database and is a known leader of a small, five man squad of mercs, specialising in combat over infiltration or sabotage. Her current employment status is listed as 'Unknown'. There is no home address listed but the contact information points to a colony world. Interestingly, she has been coming to the Sapphire Hotel bar every day for the last week or so, asking about Szymon and warned us not to look into Szymon's disappearance.

❌ ANDREW doesn't know about the colony world, but maybe someone else know.

Lain had received the message for an urgent job requiring discretion. It's not a hitjob, there's potential for it to get violent. Maybe the most interesting part, it promised good pay.

Mission:
Eltik's son, Szymon, was sent to negotiate with a contractor off-planet. He checked into his hotel but never made it to his meeting. He is either dead, kidnapped or has spent the last week passed out in some brothel. We need to find out which one it is and at least bring his corpse back to Eltik-A.
If Szymon was just passed out in some bar, this would be a quick job with a huge payout.
If he has been kidnapped, this might be a good payment for a hard and dangerous job - or it might be well-paid suicide.
Alive, he would be very valuable. He knows of certain company secrets that need to be kept in the family
If word about this got out, Eltik Interplanetary would be in big trouble. Selling information about employers is career death for a mercenary, sometimes it could even mean literal death. Still, with information as valuable as the disappearance of a major CEO's son, some people might get inclined to take the risk.

Background:
Szymon was meeting a mercenary they have worked worked with before so we deemed her trustworthy.

Due to the circumstances of my son's disappearance, we can't exclude the possibility of her involvement.
He checked into the Sapphire Hotel on Iris Station, which is also where the meeting was supposed to take place.
Szymon went there in his own ship which is still docked according to Iris' port records.

He was accompanied by two experienced Eltik soldiers. They are loyal but apparently were not competent enough to keep their eyes on him. They are still on planet and have orders not to look around for Szymon beyond the bare minimum because they are not subtle enough.

* A document stating you are employed by me (including a well made forgery of this document). It should get some people to talk to you that otherwise wouldn't but it might also draw undue attention, so be careful who you show it to.
* One of Eltik's ships for the duration of this assignment.

The ship von Eltik provided is a very simple transporter, although with an improved engine. Not a glamorous ship but a reasonably fast one. It has very light weaponry but is clearly not designed for a real fight.

The ship's digital paperwork designates it as an independent shipping vessel, currently hired to take cold storage containers to Iris Station. The document seems to be in order. All the signatures and verification marks are in place, but the name of the ship as well as of the four crew members have been left blank and will need to be filled in still. This ship should arouse no suspicion when docking at Iris Station and there seems to be nothing linking it to Eltik Interplanetary"

Even taking the powerful engine into account, the trip to Iris will still take at least five days from Eltik-A.

The docking and boarding of the station proceeds without difficulties. The papers that von Eltik provided for the ship and crew check out and the mercenaries are allowed onto the station.

READING HERE

Lain finds old security recordings that have since been deleted, apparently during the time the Veszélyes Áruk was here. They show a man living alone down here, running check-ups on the systems and going for a patrol of the whole place once per day. The man is not one of the people that the mercenaries have encountered since getting here but it seems that up until the point when all records stop, he was alone in charge of keeping this place running. Ever since the Áruk arrived, there have been no recordings saved at all so there is nothing Lain can recover.

* We all get into the vehicle and drive towards the storage unit under petense of needing fuel or maintance ✅

* Here Lain, Carlos and this fellow, will:
- stealthily get out and head through the tunnel towards the base
- trying to find our target and
- try to find the way to shut down the power.

* Meanwhile, myself and two other soldiers will:
- go towards the main entrance to create a distraction and alleviate suspicion for a while.
- start a firefight from the gates, then maybe pretend to run to pull their forces apart.
