You can post your character backgrounds here. The game will start as you're on your way to the town of Greenest, a thriving town situated to the south of the Sword Coast, so you can take that into account if you'd like.

Octavia grew up as a blacksmith's apprentice, under her father. As well as teaching her the way of the forge he taught her of Gond, and how offering him worship would ensure their creations were of good quality. As she grew up, the lord of the land began to get more corrupt with power, demanding more in taxes. She and her father started forging weapons for rebels in secret, but were discovered and the lords men raided their shop.

A group who had been gaining the name of heroes for protecting villagers where the Lord wouldn't, intervened but were too late to save Octavia's father. With the death of her father and the lord starting to be more aggressive towards anyone who spoke out against him, Octavia decided it was time to stop being passive and to actively helped, so joined up with the heroes to help thwart him. She prayed to Gond to grant her weapons the strength to avenge her father and protect others, and to her surprise he answered.

Eventually they toppled the lord, and travelled as a group for a few years after before they went their separate ways to settle down. Octavia, and the groups sorceress Solana had grown into lovers during their adventures, and settled down in a village on the Swordcoast, with Octavia acting s the villages smith, and Solana providing magical aid.

For many years they lived peacefully and the village thrived, before suddenly it was attacked by a dragon and a cult. They targeted Octavia's and Solana's home, as if they had the knowledge the two were the more capable in the village. While both fought to defend the village, by the end of the attack almost everything was ash. During the fight Octavia got caught under falling rubble, and was overlooked by the cultist as they took everything of value.

Upon waking the blacksmith was hit with deja vu, everything she had built once again lost. She salvaged what gear she could from her shop, and began to search for clues as to who attacked, and why. She also sent out message to the others of her old bad, to warn them in case it was someone who wanted revenge on them, and also for aid, though since she moved swiftly on has not got any replies. Eventually her inquiry led her to travelling through Greenest.

(My thinking is that because she's several years out of practice that's why she's back to lv 1 despite being an adventurer for a long time. So to start with her levelling is more her remembering/regaining the energy, and connection with Gond, to do things she used to be able to do)

Edit: Just a popped a link to pic in.

Kirsk was born between an unusual coupling of a Human farmer, and a female orc. Kirsk's mother Murask had left her clan after one to many beatings, and found refuge in the farm of Kirin Dryden. The two eventually found a mutual attraction and Kirsk was not far behind. At the age of 8, Kirsk and Kirin were working in the fields when a large Orc raiding party ran from the woods and ransacked the home. Murask, fighting with a vengence, was killed while Kirin and Kirsk fled. They raced to the town of Greenest to get help. While the city guard did drive off the orc party, the homestead was destroyed. With little left to grow, and winter approaching, Kirin and Kirsk moved to the city. Kirin found the bottle, and stayed drunk for the remainder of his life. He claimed he was drunk for the loss of his love, but Kirsk thought it was the shame of cowardice. His mother gave her life fighting, while his father grabbed him and ran. He vowed to never end up like his father, weak, consumed by drink, and a coward. Since he was staying in town, and with little to do, Kirsk would spend most of his free time at the shrine of Bahamut. First drawn to the shrine by the powerful image of the dragon, he eventually grew to respect the awesome power and courage of the deity. By the time he was 13, Kirsk's father had died and he was taken in by the caretaker of the shrine, brother Owen. By the time he was 18, he had devoted his life to his deity and joined the Order of Bahamut, tasked with defending the weak, restoring justice, and destroying evil.

[ +- ] Kel
Kel could not remember having parents. She couldn't remember where she was from. To her, the beginning of her life was when she was found, a broken mess of a woman, at the gates of the Platinum Dragon Monastery in the Cloud Peaks of Amn. She was a young woman with no history, no home, and no hope. She could remember some faint pull that had lead her there, but she didn't know where it had led her from.

It did not matter though. She was taken in. Given new purpose. The monks there taught her many things. They taught her to defend herself from the harsh world she had found herself in. They taught her how to enjoy the life she now had. They taught her the value of helping those less fortunate than themselves. but most importantly, they taught her about Bahamut, and the race of dragons. These lessons were most important to her, yet she could understand why.

She devoured all of the tomes on dragonkind that the monks had to offer. In time, she could recite off anything anyone wanted to know about the great wyrms, but her knowledge came at the expense of her rites.

It had been a few months since she left the monastery. It was on good terms, as she had come to care for her friends among the monks, but the tugging of fate on her heart could not be ignored. She could not help but feel eyes on her from some far away source as she traveled to Greenest. She could only wonder at what the gods had in store for her.
OOC:
Kel, or Kelthyra, has no memory of her past life. She gets glimpses of it at times, mostly in dreams, but it only fuels her desire to learn more about dragonkind and why she has this feeling that the Platinum Dragon has something in mind for her. She is still vain and proud at times, but the monks have taught her to be more caring for those she considers to be beneath her (which is a broad category). Her red hair is a mark of her curse, as she acted too much like a vainglorious Red Dragon, and she has vague insecurities about her hair, but doesn't really understand where those feelings come from.

Quinell's parents were minor nobles from one of the lesser houses, and so it was with great pride that they discovered their only son was one of the blessed "fey touched". They provided Quinell with tutors both mundane and magic to give him the best schooling, providing him with every advantage so that he would grow to become worthy of the gift. But as Quinell, or "Quin" as he liked to be called grew into manhood, his parents became more and more disappointed as the young man squandered his gifts, more interested in drinking, arousing and womanizing than study. What gifts Quin had he misused, calling forth his gift to trick or embarrass others, or to impress the latest in a series of meaningless assignations. Even so they loved their son and hoped he would grow out of such youthful foolishness.

But years passed and there was no evidence that Quin would change his ways. That was until one day when Quin's behavior seemed to change completely overnight. He stopped going to the parties. He began to turn down drinks that were offered. He retired early, eschewing the late night outings with his rowdy friends. His parents first thought he was pining over some girl, but as each week passed, he grew more sullen and brooding. He was seen less and less, spending more time locked in his room often claiming he was tired, or ill. Finally his parents, worried beyond measure summoned a healer, but when they went to find him, Quin was gone. His room was empty, and only a short note was left on his study desk.
Quote:
Dear Mother and Father,

The Fey guide me. I have gone to Greenest.
Your loving son,

Quinell
