Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

One of my old PBMers has requested the return of Warhammer and I thought I'd put the word out here and see if anyone might be interested.

Which version though? Also Ulric's Fury!!!!

I would love to give it a try some time.

2nd edition is my go to.

As I mentioned on Twitter, I'm very keen on Warhammer FRP - it's one of my favorite systems of all time - but at the moment, I just can't see myself being able to commit to another game. If you start the game and then later find am opening, keep me in mind. By my past experience, at least one game I'm in wraps up or goes dormant every couple of months...

No problem. It might be some time before I get things rolling anyway, just gauging interest.

The Red Mohawk, the blue runic tats, the sever alcohol problem, the insane ax or axes wielded, the regret. The career path (slayer series) that leads to your hopefully inevitable doom?

Yup, that's the one. All you need now is a crazy sidekick to go with you. Oh and bandage your fingers after you put on that armor too.

Slayers are usually the sidekick for a sane person. Armor? Why where armor when you'll eventually die gloriously (serious this is the part that freaks me out) they literally are trying to get killed but their own skills keep them alive to fight something bigger and nastier. D=

Does the skill tree go all the way to godslayer? I seem to remember that from somewhere?

If you survive and meet qualification/requirements I think it goes to Daemon Slayer. I'd have to look.

Late to the reply, but I'd be interested if you haven't already started. It'd be a totally new system for me though.

2nd Ed has been out for a minute. Fun branching system. Looks like 4-5 possibles. XD Small but Vicious Dogs all around.

I fear the surprise of that adveture would be lost on me, having GM'd it several times.

Would the Career Compendium is usable if you ran 2nd Ed?

I believe so. From what I recall, 2nd ed was just amended arrata and a few new bits. The mechanics are the same.

Do I need to roll up a character (trust us not to fudge the dice!) or are you doing them? Probably be a rogue but I need to have a quick read up on the character races, etc..

How does this website work anyway? Do we get emailed the turns like you used to?

I can roll it for you using the dice rolls on the site, just give me race and class. The adventure will run as the old forum with each character posting actions, RP etc my plan is a minimum of two posts per week so a little faster paced than the ones. We already have a warrior and two academics (!)

Scroll to the very bottom of the forum and you'll see the section for our game.

It's probably quicker to give people the name of your game, or a link to it directly. The public forums can be quite long, heh. I gotta work on something to help mitigate that. I think the idea was sound when the site started and we had two dozen public games... no longer...

It was directed at our new comer who's unfamiliar with the site, but yes a way to better organise would help, perhaps allowing users to hide a thread or to reorganise unused threads?

I understand, I saw that, I was just pointing out that since the game details page is the core of a game, directing them to that would probably fare better than just to the forum, as they wouldn't be able to participate unless they join the game.

However, you can hide public games, so you'd only see the games you're in. Also, as a forum, I'm not sure hiding threads or reorganizing threads makes sense. I'd be glad to have a conversation on it and how that'd work, but it's not a feature you typically see in a forum.

Awesome! My plan is to start today so as soon as we get your character set up I can bring you in. We have a ranger, warrior and two academics. What would you like to play, warrior, rogue, ranger or academic? And would you like elf, dwarf, human or halfling?

By the Great Gods! I hope there's still place for one more! I'm getting to know the system and got pretty interested in the lore part. Been storytelling Warhammer 40k games for quite a while before it got my attention.

Most of the people in the thread have gone inactive sadly... But the guy proposing it is still around.

Then there might be hope yet. Even if it's feathery fart's area of expertise apparently.
A'right, I'll be waiting around eagerly, playing with the nurglings in the corner in the meantime.
