I've been on this board for a week, but I've DM'd in person games before.

I picked up the Mythic Oddesys of Theros book on DnDBeyond and its awesome. I'd run my own game, but I'm so green to this form of play that I'm gunshy. Just gauging interest of a game like that with a new DM. :)

It's a greek-inspired DnD 5e book

Theros, is in a word... awesome... or at least awesome looking. Isn't that a MtG: Planeswalker setting? or... not related?

Yes, it was originally a setting for the Magic: the Gathering card game that borrows heavily from Greek myth. Since WotC owns both D&D and Magic they've started combining them, hoping to bring new players to both games.

I've only dabbled in 5e. But, I'm GMing two games here...but would LOVE to play. :) Let me know.

I'd be into it if someone wanted to run a game :)

If you're looking for more players, I'm in. :)

How much is the book and would I need it to play?

Its been released only digitally so far on things like DnD Beyond (physical release was postponed until July due to lockdown).

You probably wouldn't NEED it to play, although there are several parts in the book that are awesome. The beefed up gods/piety system alone makes the book worth buying.

We're talking about the game on Discord in the Dungeons and Dragons channel :) It does look exciting! You probably would benefit from having access to the book, if only to read about your character's specifics. If I get involved, I'll share the book - I pay for the content sharing feature.

Yeah. I've only got the basic D&D player's guide. 5e

I almost worked on a Savage Worlds conversion of Theros. The setting is cool. :)

You've convinced me.
