After some nitpicking and acquiescence, here's a simpler form of character creation:
1) Consult Random Generator Matrix. Brainstorm a basic character concept from your results.
2) Choose 12 Abilities, any of which can be Keywords or Breakouts.
3) Assign a 17 rating to any two Abilities; the rest of your Abilities will begin at 13 (Breakouts begin at +1).
4) Distribute 20 points to your Abilities. No more than 10 points can be pooled into a single Ability. You can increase a Breakout to up to a maximum of +5 at character creation.
5) I will not be using Flaws or Complications. I will derive flaws and complications naturally from your existing Ability spread when the time arises. Feel free to select Abilities with ambiguous positive-negative connotations as this, in my completely dispensable opinion, greatly enhances the RP experience.
6) Choose a Name and write a short Description of your character. This can include distinguishing features and backstory not made obvious in your Abilities.
7) Write down any essential Equipment your character may carry. This does not have to be an exhaustive list. Think of it as a 'Tools of the Trade' -type list.
