The story so far, with the Black Scrolls.
On the frontier between the Crane's and the Lion's lands, a Crane's patrol has found the corpses of two bushi.
The immediate environment revealed marks of a fight, a lot of blood, etc etc.
From what the Daidoji Scouts have found, there were a dozen of people involved, but only two corpses.
Asahina's Shugenjas found evidence of corrupt energy in that area, really dark, and even the residue demonstrated the amount of power of this energy. Morever, the surroundings have started to rot severely.
Given all those reports, the Daimyo and his counselors have concluded something happened linked to the Black Scrolls, even if no one is really able to believe such a legend could appear there and now.
A week after that, Crane's patrols began to be decimated, along the border, in this particular area, and so, a state of war has been declared against the Lion's Clan, the main and obvious suspect for now.
And that was 3 weeks and a half ago. Since then, Crane and Lion are at war.
So far, that's what Itsumi knows.
