Anyone planning any OSR/D&D5e?

I recently emigrated down under, and I'm sorely missing roleplaying.

Anyone thinking of starting a D&D 5e or LotFP/Labyrinth Lord that I can tag along on?

I'm thinking of running a new game as the CoC adventure I was running died.

I'm interested in playing some more 5e. Preferably as a player because I have my offline group to DM.

The more I see posts like these the more I want to spin up a new 5e game. Is that the preferred system here? Which is OSR again?

I'm currently reading A Red and Pleasant Land, while wondering if I'm the right kind of crazy to run it. I'm also tempted to run a 2nd end dungeon crawl converted to 5e if anyone is interested.

Not quite OSR, but closeish - I've been considering running Curse of Strahd (The Strahd material from Ravenloft bundled together and updated to 5e). Although I'd have a preference for players that haven't played any of the original Strahd material (and if you're into OSR you might well have!)

We only had a couple of homebrew one-shots back in the days of AD&D set in Ravenloft, so you could say I'm just familiar with the setting.

I wouldn't mind joining in to that. I was in a Ravenloft game run on GP here, but it stalled out shortly after I joined.

Great. I'll invite both of you when I set it up later. So you can get thinking, I'm going with a somewhat restrictive race limitation to keep with the historical Ravenloft - only humans, halflings, elves, dwarves and half elves (and I'd like no more than one elf and dwarf, should people choose those races). Level 1, any published material is allowed. I'm willing to discuss psion v2 if someone is interested in it.

In that case then, I'll try to make sure your slot goes to someone new(er). I'll send an invite to Valcos (who posted earlier on in this thread expressing interest in playing, and only has 2 characters in the database!) and try and get some new faces into some action around here :)

You all are in for a great experience with Candi running a game! Her "Rand Hand of Doom" has been the best PbP experience I have ever had doing this for the past two years.

If there is a lot of overflow I will still run a 5e game myself. I like to play one and run one when I can.

I'm playing in two games now - I think playing in two and running one should be pretty manageable.

Hahaha yeah! To my credit, I've kept my promise to myself to not join any more games even though I just saw almost half a dozen new ones pop up this past week haha! :-D I gotta tell you, it wasn't easy! But yeah I'm really happy to see new people joining and running!

We're starting to see more games, which I'm advertising more, which is hopefully leading to more players. But then all you senior members sign up for them all :D
