Coincidentally, my family is from the Azores. The island of Pico, specifically. I speak Portuguese, though not terribly well.

Nothing boring about that! The US is an awesome place, I've never been on the west coast (save for a trip to Vancouver), but I've lived in IL for a year and had a really great time there

That is some good Portuguese and it doesn't looks from Brazil so I'm guessing not a native speaker? :D (it's too short a sentence to tell, so I'm just making random guesses ;))

That was a very good guess! I'm originally from Italy, and if I would have written a longer sentence I'd have probably thrown in there some "false friends" from italian, as I unfortunately still tend to do. Funnily enough I practiced a lot with Brazilian people when learning at the beginning, so sometimes people here tell me I use Brazilian words (and "suco" still sounds more natural to me, being close to the italian "succo", than "sumo" :) )

I like how RIYA and Brahim are, effectively, part of the ship. The difference is that one is virtual software and the other is physical "hardware" :D

So far, I'm really enjoying how the characters interaction are coming up naturally. Can't wait for all the other crewmembers to join in!

No worries. Because of work, I will have occasional periods when I can't post for a day or two. But I'm trying to post or respond to posts every day when I can, for the sake of maintaining momentum.

Yeah. I wanted to play a character that is not a leader or even much of a fighter and I was intrigued by the notion of a brilliant but emotionally dulled person. However, I was concerned that set of characteristics could easily become a boring robotic coward; and it is hard to justify a brilliant character who doesn't make the logical choice to get a desk job rather than risk injury and death.

I needed a reason for Brahim to stay with the crew and not leave for greener pastures at the first opportunity, so I created a backstory that was tragic enough to penetrate his muted emotions and provide long term motivation and loyalty. It also creates a discomfort with violence that will be interesting to play.

Now that Brahim's motivations are established I'm not going to dwell on the sad shit going forward.

That all makes sense. I personally enjoy the deep stuff.

I forgot to add the talent we picked for the crew. Can someone tell me which one we went with? Thanks in advance.

The charge can be set on timer, or can be detonated remotely via your comm link. Either way.

Well, since 99_Ninjas is the GM, I don't think we really have any options but wait :(

I like the game system and characters so far and I am wondering if it is possible for someone else could take over as GM? I found the published scenario guide called Aram's Secret online, but I did not read it. What do you all think?

Normally, I’d volunteer to GM, but I’m already running two, and I’m struggling to keep up with the games I’m in.

I should practice my GMing but I'm a bit busy. Also, even though I read most of the manual at some point, I can't remember the rules that well...

If you're ok with a potentially slow game that mostly follows the written materials, I could read that pdf and try to run something. I'm not sure the artifact hook was a real thing, so there may be some twisting the plot there :D I'll defenitly need your help with the rules though. I guess the players would be BazyliZwiazek, 78RPMLife, ed... and maybe Squadfather44?

I'm going to have to bow out, even if there's a reboot. I need to focus energy on work and other things. It was fun while it lasted -- really enjoyed playing with all of you and hope I get to see you in other games.

I do run one sci-fi game in the Cypher system that might be looking for another player down the road soon. If that sounds like something you might be interested in, please send me a PM and we can chat about it.

That could be interesting for ed or/and BazyliZwiazek since they are newish here and not in many games, though I guess we can probably assume this one will just die off unless 99_ninjas manages to return

@BazyliZwiazek and @ ed... don't forget to apply to other games. It's commom to have people trying to run a game and then find out then can't keep up, but there are a lot of good stable games around :D
