Episode 1.1: Dragon Warrior vs Goblins (Nel)

There are two goblins near Nel, one's the mage that shot a stone spell while the other looked like a normal one.

The two humans are surrounded by five goblins, one of the goblins is riding a wolf.

One of the humans looked like a warrior in armor carrying a large sword. The other one is a girl dressed like a witch and wields a staff.

ROLL INITIATIVE

Nel swoops down and successfully grabs the goblin mage restraining its arms and head with his arms before flying up again.

"G--- Gu----" The goblin mage tried its best to get out of Nel's lock but is weak.

Nel flies 30ft above the air with the goblin mage.

The goblin mage is defenseless, immobile and impaired.

ROUND 1

A goblin attacked the witch with its claw. The witch successfully avoided getting hit with a sidestep.

"What's that?" The witch asks pointing at Nel and the Goblin who are flying.

"Focus Lena, we'll deal with that later." The fighter says as he fends off an attack by the goblin rider. He was able to parry the rider's club attack with his sword and the wolf's bite attack did not work on his armor. The goblin rider moves away from the witch and the fighter after attacking.

The fighter run towards a group of goblins and swept them with a horizontal slash using his large sword hitting all three goblins. One was wounded, another was maimed, and the other did not take much damage.

The goblin accompanying the mage throws a stone at Nel but it didn't reach him.

"Alright, finish these freaks Alf." Lena says before chanting words to cast a spell. Thorny brambles grew rapidly below one of the goblins feet wounding and binding it in its place.

"Gueeeee!!!" One of the goblin cries after realizing it lost one of its arms.

Another goblin attacked the fighter with a strong kick on the fighter's gut. It was strong enough that it made the fighter take a step back.

"Ugh!" Alf grits his teeth as he try to ignore the pain.

Nel used the Goblin mage as a weapon (literally). He grabbed its leg and charged on an enemy. He flails the goblin, hitting the enemy in the head.

"GuEEEE!" "GRrrruua"

The goblins scream in pain before knocking down unconscious the goblin he clubbed. The goblin mage is hurt, getting used as a club isn't really a rewarding experience. The mage is staggering as it try to rise and recover.

ROUND 2

The goblin mage is dazed but still it tries to cast a spell. Purple smoke surrounds Nel and eventually vanishes. It spells acidic but it did not affect Nel much. Nel resisted the effects of a potentially deadly spell.

The goblin rider charges towards the fighter again. The goblin missed its strike and the wolf tried to bite Alf's leg again but it just couldn't sink its teeth due to Alf's armor.

Alf ignores the goblin rider and went for a jump and downward slash against the enemy bound in brambles chopping the goblin in half vertically. Goblin blood and innards spilled on the forest floor.

"Ha! I'll slice you all in half like this one." Alf laughs. Lena looks at Alf and the dead goblin with disgust.

The goblin behind Nel ran and threw a stone at Nel. It hits Nel but Nel's armor negated the damage.

"Go to sleep." Lena says before chanting a spell.

Lena waved her staff that released some white powder over an area occupied by the goblins. Both goblins were affected by Lena's spell. Their eyes became drowsy and their movement became sluggish. The goblins felt exhausted and sleepy.

Both sleepy goblins tried to go after Nel with claw attacks that would hit Nel's armor but lacks power to penetrate through Nel's defense.

Nel grabbed the goblin mage, again, and flies upward. His fatigue prevented him from rising to his desired height but he is still high enough to prevent getting attacked by melee attackers.

"Alright, stranger." Lena replied.

"Tsk." Alf clicks his tongue.

The goblin Nel grabbed couldn't do much to fight off Nel's lock. It is immobilized. defenseless, and impaired from casting its spells.

The goblins affected by Lena's spell earlier started feeling more drowzy, and drowzy, and... zzzzZZZz
The goblins succumbed to slumber.

The goblin mage tried to struggle and free itself from Nel's grasp but failed. It wasn't strong enough to resist Nel's skillful lock.

The goblin rider is angry. His allies are falling around him one by one. He went on a frenzy and charged at Lena then it charged again at Alf. Lena got clawed at her side, a deep wound. Pieces of cloth from her robe got torn off. Alf suffered from the goblin's sharp claws as well.

"Ughhhhh." Lena screams in pain, she tried to cover and put pressure on her wound but that doesn't help much. Alf tried to ignore the damage but the expression in his face reveals that he too has taken much damage from these goblins.

With all his might Alf lifts his sword and charges at the Goblin rider. He slashes, steps back to regain his balance then he jumps and slashes again. The rider barely evaded Alfs attacks and took damage. The wolf got wounded at its back and Alf's sword made a deep cut on the goblin's leg.

Alf was too focused at striking the goblin rider, he failed to notice another goblin. The goblin behind him picked up a large stone and throws it at Alf's head. THUD!

CLANG! Alf's sword fell off from his hands.
Alf got knocked unconscious. His body fell on the ground.

"Alf!" Lena shouts as she wave her staff again to cast a spell. Brambles rapidly grew from the ground where the wolf and goblin was. The sharp thorns made it hard for the wolf to move and as it struggle the thorns dug deeper. Quickly it bled and fell unconscious. The rider barely survives the entanglement.

The goblin mage struggles as the dragon's embrace grew tighter but at the sound of a snap and some bones cracking, the goblin stops closes its eyes and stops struggling. Dead or just unconscious? Either way, as soon as Nel releases his hold of the goblin, the goblin mage falls down the ground with a loud THUD and some more bones cracking and even escaping the goblin's skin.

ROUND 4

The goblin rider who just lost his 'ride' tried to escape the brambles where Lena trapped it but the brambles and entanglement were just too strong for the goblin to get out of it. Wounds open as the thorns pierce through the goblin's skin. The goblin bleeds.

Lena's remaining enemy was the goblin that throws stones. Lena waved her staff and casts the sleep spell on it. The goblin became tired and drowzy... zzzzZZzz. The goblin fell asleep.

Lena ran towards Alf to check on him.

"Oh no... What do I do? Help!!" She shouts.

Nel slays the last goblin with a slash and finishes all other goblins. The forest floor and the large sword was almost covered in blood when Nel finished.

As for Lena and Alf. Lena tried hard to stabilize Alf's condition but it seem Alf's gone.

"He's not breathing anymore!" Lena cries as she desperately try to revive Alf but it was already too late.

Alf's gone.

Lena continues sobbing.

"Go ahead. Those goblins will pay for what they've done." She says as she rise up and wipe off her tears.

Nel can hide the body on the big tree nearby. Its got branches big enough to hold a body and leaves for cover.

"Let me rest a while. I need to recover from these wounds." She says as she walk to a nearby shade. Lena sat down and tends to her own wounds, bandaging it with cloth torn off from her skirt.

"Leave them, Goblins belong to the earth and will just turn to soil after its death." Lena says.

You saw what she meant, except for Alf's blood, goblins blood dries faster and becomes soil while parts of their bodies are also slowly turning into soil.

"I didn't catch your name earlier. Anyway, my name is Lena and the man..." Lena paused as she wipes her tears.

"...with me is Alf. We're adventurers on a mission to exterminate the goblin threat." She says.

The sword's around 62 inches and weighs around 6~7 lbs. It is sharp but you know it isn't new. Whether Lena is ok or not with you taking Alf's sword, Lena just gave you a nod.

"While there are goblins that are welcome in society, blue goblins are a menace. They're children of chaos that only seek to destroy forests and others lives. They reproduce and grow rapidly so we have to stop them before they can become a disaster." Lena answers Nel's question.

"Mica should be with Maki, did they get separated?" Lena asks.

Guess this sword's mine. Would be nice if I had a sheath too though.

Nel approaches a nearby tree and rests his back on it. Breaks are important. He worked hard but got fired from his work a day ago and now he's in another world killing goblins.

Gimme a break but hey I never I thought I could fight so well.

Nel looks at Lena.

"I only met Mica. I guess your friend Maki's the captive I saw in the goblin camp while I was flying." Nel answers Mica's query.

"What do you know about the goblin captain?" Nel asks as he look around checking the plants in the vicinity. Maybe he can find something useful he thought.

You saw an herb with a flower that looked like a rose with clear petals. You're not sure what it is for but in your head something tells you that it is useful for something.

"We should find the others quick then, we don't know how long they'd keep Maki alive." Lena says before standing up and dusting off her robe.

"I don't know much about the goblin captain but this is supposed to be an E rank mission for us adventurers but then.." Tears formed on the side of her eyes. She stopped herself from sobbing and wiped away her tears.

"We must go." She says.

I wonder what that flower is...

Nel approaches the flower and inspects it.

He looks at Lena and says "I can fly us there if you want.", before looking back at the strange rose.

"What's this flower called?" Nel asks as he point on the clear rose.

"I... I'd rather we run to our destination if its ok." She says. She looks up at where you hid Alf's body and then down the ground.

Lena then approaches to inspect the flower Nel pointed. Her face shows surprise.

"A memory plant. This is a flower that stores someone's memory. You can eat its petal to retrieve someone's memory." Lena says. She plucks a petal and keeps it.

"An adventurer must've planted this here." She says.

Nel chews on and swallows the petal. It tasted sweet. Nothing seems to happen until he starts hearing someone in his mind. The voice was of a man.

"I'm Basil Frey, an adventurer. By the time you found my memory plant I'm probably dead. I was with a party to guide novices in their first quest. We were only supposed to find medicinal herbs for Newtown apothecary, but then we encountered the blue goblins. We were confident that we could take on the blue goblin extermination but these goblins proved to be stronger than us. We fought and by the time we thought we've won, that goblin appeared. The goblin captain!" The voice was that of a man fearing for his life, running. You can hear him panting, trying to catch his breath.

"If you are here to exterminate that menace beware. He can turn into a ..." You hear him scream in agony for a few seconds before the sound ended.

"What did it say?" Lena asks.

"Be careful." Lena says with a nod.

Nel flies towards the goblin camp and Lena made her way towards the camp's southern gate.
