Newbie D&D Game

Thinking about running a short D&D game for those that are either new to the wonderful world of Gamers Plane, new to play by forum, and/or new to D&D (5e). Basically something newbie friendly where one can 'learn the ropes' so to speak.

The expectation would be that players would at least download the Basic Rules for Dungeons and Dragons (if needed) and at least peruse them a bit. No need to know the ins and outs (hell, I hardly know them) but it would be nice if everyone had a general idea of what's going on.

Other than that we can walk through whatever needs to be walked through, get some characters created, and have some fun. I know I have my buddy GamerDad interested (not that one, the other one) and would like at least two others. Any takers?

Just joined Gamers Plane and have little experience with RPGs in general. Hope that's OK. Been listening to some actual play podcasts which made me want to give one a try but I have a 2 month old so getting out to meet a game group would be tough. Gamers Plane seemed like a good way to get some experience.

szemely, I'm not new, but I want to say "Thanks" for starting up something like this.

I would be happy to help out with it, if you ever need some help. I could GM, give advice to players about creating characters, buidling backstory, mechanics, whatever. It seems like a good cause to donate my time to.

Again, if you need such help just give me a buzz.

Awesome, looks like interest won't be a problem. Epic_Cheese and ghotifish - I'm going to work on having something set up by the end of the week, I'll throw you both an invite when that happens and we'll go from there.

Super glad to see so many new to GP people. Welcome to everyone. I've been using it for some time so feel free to ever message if you have questions on its use.

I'm already running a number of games or playing in some otherwise I would start another. I have one finishing up hopefully within a month or so and I'll be starting a new one up after that for sure.

Just a weird note, I got notice of my invitation in my email account, but not while I was here on the site. When I clicked through from my email though, as you can see, I was able to join no problem.

In my experience, invitations only show up in email.

Then it worked!

Invitations should also show up on the home page.
