[Sho] Bunny in Newtown

Sho woke up in a small room lying down a sofa. It looked like a small apartment, it's tight and cluttered. The room's got a rustic theme going on and there's an odd display of different kinds of whips hanging on the wall. There are clothes and instruments here and there, a hat rack with garish costume-y hats on it. On the coffee table, there's a vase with flowers that change color depending on where you look at them. Sho can only guess that it is afternoon from the light coming in from the window.

The room smells like coffee. The door opens and a familiar lady enters.

"I thought you'd never wake up." Ara says. She closes the door and approaches Sho.

Your heightened hearing picks up the sound of many things such as people chatting in [COMMON] and languages you could not understand.

"Don't worry about it, it's part of the risks we signed up for." The lady says in a sad tone.

"I do not remember much about what happened but you've been out for at least a day." She says.

Your stomach grumbles from hunger.

"I-I cooked. It's the least I can do for you for saving my life." Ara says before moving to the dining area where she starts setting up the table for Sho.

"Call me Ara." She replies as she serve you what looks and smells like mushroom soup, the mushrooms are cube shaped though.

"We got rescued by the other adventurers. The infirmary couldn't accommodate all the wounded people so I volunteered to take you here in my home." Ara says before sitting down to serve herself some soup.

The soup tastes like sour mushroom soup and the shrooms are a bit gummy like squid. Are tells you that the dish is called Boxshroom Soup. It tastes weird but you can say that it is filling.

"So you're not from around here I see." She says before taking out a small pouch.

"I reported to the guild that you helped out with the blue goblin extermination." She pushes the pouch towards you. It's a pouch of coins."Wenet? I'm not exactly well-versed in religious matters but if you're looking for a job, try the adventurers guild. I can take you there if you want." Ara says.

"How different?" Ara asked. The two of you went on with your conversation.After Sho and Ara finishes eating, Ara cleans up. They do have sinks and faucets in this world thankfully. Things may not look too modern but this world has magic. The two of you went out of Ara's house and into the street.

The place looks like a renaissance village during a cosplay convention, except the beast men and elves that are going on about with their lives are real. There are no cars but there are carts pulled by an ox like beast of burden with three eyes.

Ara leads you to the Adventurer's guild.

"Small rooms? I can't imagine what work you could be doing in such closed spaces." Ara says.

Ara and Sho continue on their walk. Sho realizes that he's wearing back his own footwear instead of Tony's red shoes. Sho and Ara talked about various things as they made their way to the Adventurer's guild.

Sho learned that Newtown is relatively small compared to the bigger cities though it is big enough to have its own Adventurers Guild. This is mainly due to the town's purpose of being the caretaker of Bezelbebe forest. Newtown relies on forestry and fishing, the town's located in an area that connects the main land to Bezelbebe peninsula.

Newtown is under a country called Eluna. Ara did not tell Sho much about the country other than that it is a country surrounded by natural barriers like mountains and forests.

The next nearest town is Klaustro which is a territory of Count Clauster. Not everybody can use magic, those who can't are not unlucky though, the deities bless them with other talents. In Eluna, non-magic users are treated with respect, but on other countries such as a certain Magedom of Megrune persecutes those who do not have affinity to use magic.

The two arrived in front of a three story building with the sign 'Adventurer's Guild' carved in [ COMMON ].

Sho and Ara enters the building and found people from different races in the large hall.

On the left side, there's a bar manned by a burly tiger like bartender, a catkin. Groups of people gather around round tables, chatting about their quests, drinking, or are waiting for someone or something.

On the right side, are people looking at a board with different sizes of parchments on it. The top of the board says 'Quests'.

The front area has three counters. There's a person behind each counter: an elf lady, a man wearing glasses, and a dog like person.

"We're here." Ara says.

"I see." Ara did not answer further questions, she's a little lost in thought while you two were walking. Though they live a dangerous life, adventurers do need time to grieve.

"I'm sorry, I have to excuse myself." Ara left Sho after they got inside the guild. She was not able to answer Sho's query about the counters.

On a cursory look at the quests, you saw posters about monster hunting or gathering plants from the forest. You learn that various dangerous creatures live deep in Bezelbebe forest, not just goblin monsters.

"Sho... ah, you're the one Mica recommended." Says the man with glasses. He checks below the counter to get something.

"Application to become adventurer usually costs some money but since you're a promising recruit, you need not pay the application fee." The man takes out a crystal ball and asks you to place your hand on it. You saw the name plate on the man's chest, it reads Morris.

When you place your hand on it, the hologram screen pops up in front of you. It shows a photo of you, your name, your birth date, your blood type, all translated to [ COMMON ]. Morris says you just need to fill in the required information in the screen but somehow it's already auto-filled with information about you.

One area is not filled in though, the blank before [ CLASS ], on your screen are options for you to choose from.
The choices are THIEF, MERCHANT, HUNTER, SCOUT, WRITER, MAGE, PRIEST.

While you are choosing, Morris explains things about the guild: what the guild does, what the membership is for, and what you can do with your license. To summarize:

* The guild's like a human resources agency that acts as intermediary between client and adventurer.
* The licenses are ranked from E to SSS, higher ranks can take higher ranking quests that are harder but pays a lot more.
* You start at Rank E and can increase your rank if you perform well in your quests.
* The adventurers license is recognized in almost all countries, you'll need it to even enter some cities.

"Aside from it is easier to find a suitable job for someone with their class. Questa, the patron goddess of the adventurers guilds all around the world grants a little boon to adventurers depending on the class they choose." Morris says.

"I don't know much about boons others get but mages like me get to choose an extra affinity for magic." He demonstrates what he meant by showing you that he can conjure a ball of flame on his left hand and a ball of electricity on his right. He then made the elemental balls fizzle out easily.

Sho picked Scout. The words Scout Lvl 1 and a small icon of an eye and a bow appears on the screen. The same icon burns on the back of Sho's right hand as if a tattoo artist used lasers to put it there. Suddenly, Sho realizes what the 'boons' are.
Sho also learn about two things:

[ Unlock Scout Lvl 2 ] Requires 5 Power points.
[ Gain another class ] Requires 5 Power points.

"You've chosen the path of a scout then. I see." Morris chants a few words. The hologram screen disappears and a card appears on his hand. He hands the card to you. In it are the same details and even the photo of you.
