[Tony] Time and Newtown

You woke up from your dream and found yourself inside what seems to be an infirmary. You lie in bed and your wounds are all patched up with bandages. On another bed, you notice Maki, the elf you saved, all patched up as well and sleeping soundly. It is afternoon.

A man in white clothes, a doctor, enters the room to check on the patients' condition.

"How are you feeling?" He asks.

Your can still feel some pain but it is much better from your state earlier.

"Do you remember how you got here? What do you remember?" He asks.

"We have limited beds in this infirmary. Your companions are safe somewhere else." The doctor replies.

"You can rest here for the night but you can't stay here forever. Do you have a home here in Newtown?" He asks as he check on the other unconscious patients in the room.

"Glowheart mushrooms? Those can be used as medicine for some non-humans. Where did.. oh nevermind that." Realizing it is rude, the doctor stops himself from prying.

"If you've got nothing to do, why not visit the Adventurer's guild, I'm sure they can help out with your situation." Doctor suggests before taking out a pouch of coins and giving it to you.

"I just remembered, they also said I should give this to you. Reward for helping out in eliminating the goblins." He says as he return to attending the other patients.

"Oh, if becoming Adventurer's not your thing, I do need help in this clinic." He says.

The doctor smiles. He's more than happy to hear the quick decision from Tony.

"I'm Casio, Newtown's doctor and pharmacist." The doctor introduces himself. He'd offer a handshake but then it won't be unsanitary since he's currently patching up someone.

Casio offers you a place to stay, a small room in his small infirmary that only has a bed, a closet, and a small bathroom. Good thing in this world, there are toilets, faucets, and even a shower all powered by magic. Tony's assigned to aid Casio all around: manning the pharmacy counter, patching up patients, feeding, procuring things, etc.

You have two days off every week, and aside from food and the room, you get a small salary every month. He did ask you to visit the town hall the next day to register yourself. Casio gave you a letter of introduction for the mayor.

Casio also says that he is willing to buy your mushrooms for a fair price.

"Join me for dinner later after I close?" Casio asks.

Casio offered you a simple shirt to cover your body and a pair of wooden sandals.
You also got the Haste Shoes back in your inventory. You're not sure how it got back.

Casio permitted you to go out to town to buy what you needed, he gave you instructions to where the shops are.

You arrived at the shopping districts. The first one you went to was a book shop Casio recommended. They sell all kinds of books at a good price range. There's literature and manuals in a variety of topics. What do you wish to buy?

You didn't find any books about history but the shopkeeper recommends that you visit the town hall for it. As for the rest you were able to buy them at a fair price.

Is there anything Tony would want to do while in town or should he return to the infirmary already?

You made your way to the adventurer's guild. There's still time before dinner.

Tony saw the three story tall building in the market area and the adventurers going in and out of the building. He can be certain it was what he was looking for since the sign, spelled in [COMMON], says it.

Anthony enters the building and found people from different races in the large hall.

On the left side, there's a bar manned by a burly tiger like bartender, a catkin. Groups of people gather around round tables, chatting about their quests, drinking, or are waiting for someone or something.

On the right side, are people looking at a board with different sizes of parchments on it. The top of the board says 'Quests'.

The front area has three counters. There's a person behind each counter: an elf lady, a man wearing glasses, and a dog like person.

"How can I help you?"

Tony saw the name plate worn by the dog person, it says 'Colette'. The dog-lady answers Tony's questions as best she could in a manner that's kind and accomodating.

What's an adventurer?
Simply put, they are people who earn by doing jobs requested by other people. Adventurers are freelancers and they get jobs from the guild. Colette also shares more information to you about the guild.

* The guild's like a human resources agency that acts as intermediary between client and adventurer.
* The licenses are ranked from E to SSS, higher ranks can take higher ranking quests that are harder but pays a lot more.
* You start at Rank E and can increase your rank if you perform well in your quests.
* The adventurers license is recognized in almost all countries, you'll need it to even enter some cities.

How to become an adventurer?
They only need to get a license here in the adventurers guild. They need to pay money for the processing fee but Colette told you after learning you helped during the goblin menace extermination that you need not pay. She takes out a crystal ball and asks you to put your hand on top of it if you want to register as an adventurer.

Is it ok for someone who works at the infirmary to become an adventurer?
Colette informs you that it is ok, in fact recommended for adventurers to have some other source of income. As long as you finish quests for the adventurer's guild at least once a month, there's no problem. Colette shares that the man Tony is working for, Casio, is an adventurer himself, a Rank B.

When Tony places his hand on the crystal ball, the hologram screen pops up in front of him. It shows a photo of you, your name, your birth date, your blood type, all translated to [ COMMON ]. Colette says you just need to fill in the required information in the screen but somehow it's already auto-filled with information about you.

One area is not filled in though, the blank before [ CLASS ], on your screen are options for you to choose from.
The choices are MAGE, MERCHANT, HEALER, DETECTIVE, PROFESSOR.
