New Game Idea

Would anyone be interested in a D&D 5e self contained survival/horror game?

What do you mean by "self contained" and "survival/horror" as the former makes no sense to me and the latter is extremely vague and could mean many different things to many different folks.

Self contained for me means it’s own separate universe.

Survival/horror would be like gritty, high chance of death, zombies, and such

I'm imagining a sort of Dead Island like game, not necessarily all zombies though.

Is playing a necromancer considered cheating?

No. Not everything would be dead. There would be lots of monstrosities and aberrations.

Anything published except Tasha's.

You could run it in Hardcore Mode 5E...I'd be down for that.

Well that explain it. I did see it lasted as a game too. LOL. That might make it hard to browse. What levels were you thinking about starting at? Still have my baseball bat.

Level 5. With select gear and a few beginning surprises.

Perhaps upgrade from baseball bat to a manchette with back woodsman would be better.

Is this the Isle of Dread game I see you're running?

I'm maxed out at the moment, but I've played IoD IRL and it's a blast. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Is Isle of Dread a real thing? I just thought I made up a name. This is a complete homebrew.

It's all 5e D&D, so still fantasy, but definitely a horror/survival.

It's a classic module. It even has a wikipedia page.



I believe it was one of the influences for Tomb of Annihilation.

Isle of Dread has some serious good memories for me. A group of us played here on GP a few years ago. It was amazing. Have a blast!
