At this point, I have filled out most of my character sheet. She has the sage background, so this is what I have for her personality and backstory:
[ +- ] Faedrith the Clever
Personality Traits:
- I'm willing to listen to every side of an argument before I make my own judgment.
- I use polysyllabic words that convey the impression of great erudition.
Ideals:
- Beauty. What is beautiful points us beyond itself toward what is true. (Good)
- Knowledge. They say knowledge is power, and one can never go too far in its pursuit. To stand between another and the knowledge they seek is criminal. (Chaotic)
Bonds:
- I will protect with my life any book or scroll that falls into my hands.
- I consider a tome of lore the highest gift.
Flaw:
- I am easily distracted by the promise of information.
- Most people scream and run when they see a demon. I stop and take notes on its anatomy.
Backstory:
Faedrith was born to an elven father and a human mother in the city of Silverymoon. She was born into poverty but enjoyed a happy childhood. When she came of age, Faedrith gathered what coin she and her parents and two brothers could and ventured northeast to the College of the Herald, a bardic college that taught lore and legend.
One day, Faedrith was to be sent with a group of Harpers to distant Candlekeep, and she was allowed to stay with them during their time in research and writing. It was in Candlekeep that she read the works of Volo, Elminster, and more; she was forever struck with wanderlust and a thirst for the world's knowledge, hoping to scour all the land and one day have her work sitting in Candlekeep.
On the second night of her stay, Faedrith witnessed a crime, one so heinous that it surely meant banishment from Candlekeep. Somehow, she was framed, and was found guilty and banned from the library on the third day.
Returning to the College of the Herald, Faedrith found that her criminal record had preceded her, and the college expelled her. Now, she scours the world alone, searching for the true culprit and a way to clear her name, while also pursuing her passion for knowledge and exploration.
I left the details of the backstory vague, hoping you as the DM could give me some direction to better tie it into the narrative. Also, is there anything I should add or omit to further the story? How do you plan on introducing my character?
