Good read Maskcot.

Saevikas they're 2 far more closely aligned things. It depends on the focus in question.

Like, the bigger die on the perfection is only if you're using your favored focus. The bigger shatter die is only on the other focus.

I see, that makes more sense.

I have a question about Habits...

In the sample character they seem to be tied to Traits, but in the reading it doesn't seem to note that. Are they only applicable when used in conjunction to certain Traits?

Like Trapfinder being Tech. While I get that makes sense because a trap is usually made of mundane materials and such, couldn't it be argued that a Streetsmarts might also work? Or would I have to have the habit in Street to use it that way?

Yeah, that's a pending edit for the next edition. I think habits will be better if they're not tied to traits.

Cool. I would agree.

In what situation would you roll Extroverted/Introverted, Follower or Optimist/Pessimist?

The other traits are self-explanatory but with these, I'm not quite sure

Ex/In: Cause a distraction or blend in, connect to somebody with these traits
Follower: work in a team, variation on "play a part" or blend in.
Op/Pess: a leg up when looking for the best or worse in people/a situation

So, Tech vs Magic/Supernatural.

It's a fine scale in most games except real life or hard sci-fi. What's magic in the real world? Instinct, maybe, or the ability to "MacGuyver" things, but switching the scale to "plan vs wing it" then is too mellow for fantasy games. The goal here is a setting-agnostic system.

So....... head vs heart, perhaps? Brain vs Blood?

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

In the system that I am building, I have two "mental" stats of Reason and Wits. My thought was like the one you mentioned...remembered information and logic is Reason. Wits is gut reaction. Typically faster in thought out actions go to Wits. When the PC has no logic to back up their choice. That was what I was thinking when I was I was reading up on your system.

I like head vs. Heart with the mutability for setting.
