Chapter 1: Little Girl Lost
Be sure to read and follow the guidelines for our forums.
The man is at the end of his thirties, has a neatly trimmed hazel-brown beard and a bit thinning hair on top. He wears an impeccable tailor-made suit, though of last years high-fashion, and has a general well-groomed look.
Oblivious to the event Sofia is involved in, he takes a final sip of his cup of tea before continuing, "Apparently one of their aides had become lost and had wandered into exactly the wrong building;", adding with a bark of a laugh, "That of house Ordinos", before staring into infinity for a moment with a thin grin upon his face.
He sees the little girl and his police instincts kick in. He kneels to talk to her
Hi there sweetie, where are your mommy and daddy?
Do you have a picture of your mom? Maybe we can help you.
Sophia accesses the nearest computer terminal and searches for the whereabouts of Amanda Peterson.
Gonna make an investiagtion check. Correct me if I'm wrong. So Investigations should be +1 for my INT bonus and -3 for untrained which means that it's -2 in total
Rolls
Investigation - (2d6-2)
(63) - 2 = 7
While at the com, Carlos will search news mentions of the woman or the child. Don't want to get picked up for kidnapping.
Rolls
Investigation 0, int +1, easy +2? - (2D6+3)
(36) + 3 = 12
Anton Perkins is a 30-something year old human of average build, with short cropped brown hair on his head and a perpetual three-day stubble on his face. He is dressed in a typical green "spacer" jumpsuit with no markings or insignia - neither military nor corporate.
"I've got a bad feeling about this. Keep your eyes peeled, everybody."
Rolls
Recon to spot an ambush - (2d6+1)
(62) + 1 = 9
With that said he looks around for the nearest security office and moves towards it.
"Say fellows", the former diplomat says as he nears a security office or group of guards, "Have seen this woman enter the starport?"
Sophia picks the little girl up so that she can sit on her shoulders
Let's go get her to her mom. I doubt that a heinous plan is behind a lost child. Sophia beckons the others to follow her to the address of the young girl's mother
Rolls
Recon 0 - (2d6)
(41) = 5
After a moment, he steps up to the officers. "Good evening officers", he states, exaggerating slightly his already clear, high-born accent, then with a nod towards the house he asks, "Could you tell me what happened here?"
Is the owner a certain Amanda Peterson? We found her daughter lost at the starport and wanted to bring her home...
Rolls
Investigation Check - (2d6-1)
(45) - 1 = 8
Carlos looks at the girl, does she seem to get what happened here?
I ask because I am not sure what skill would let me know how the kid is doing. I don't know what advocate does.
Rayshel, do you know how to fund your father?
Then he bends down towards Rayshel, "Do you have a granny, aunt, or any friends where you could stay a while?"
Hi officer, I worked 12 years in the Military Police, so I know how to be careful. Can I go in and get a bag together for the girl? She will need clothes, maybe a couple of toys. Things are going to be rough for her.

Investigate 0 - (2D6)

Aleksis shifts his stance slightly and asks, "Did you like it with Daddy?", adding, "Would you like it if you would live there for longer?".
The guard looks Carlos over. "Well, I'm not supposed to let anyone in, but... you're right. She's going to have a tough go at it. Go on in."
When she releases he wil state, both to her and the group, "Let's return to the ship for some hot choco, and to discuss our options"
Well, the security personnel here isn't very helpful so I think we are the only ones who can help her. I'd say we maybe fill the cargo room with some goods that are on demand in Gadolinia and then we jump there. So we get both: a bit of profit and a good deed
"I also wish to make some purchases here before we set out anywhere."
Ten he turns towards the little girl and kneels down to her eye level, "However, Rayshel, would you like to go back to your father?". With candor, he adds, "I don't have any alternatives than your father, but that is also because we haven't searched for them yet. What do you think?"
"And I agree with Sophia, let's make the trip worth while. I will try to find some passenger, for Gadolinia, or", Aleksis looks at his com for a moment before continuing, "Quiri, as that is our next hop. If anyone wants to help me that is welcome. Who is going to look for cargo to either Gadolinia or Quiri, and are there any other things the group or the ship needs?"
Anton turns to face their newest passenger, and tries his best to muster a warm, friendly smile. "Hey Rayshel, have you ever seen the bridge of a starship before?"
He hands the supplies he took from the home, to Anton.
For the girl.
Anyone trying to find passengers should roll against Carouse, Streetwise, or Broker. Roll three times (2d6), one each for middle, high, and low passengers. Add a DM of +1 for high passengers, +5 for middle passengers, and +6 for low passengers. Be sure to add your skill level in whichever of the three skills you wish to use.
Those of you looking for cargo, make a Broker or Streetwise check (remember that a skill can be rolled against at -3 if not possessed) twice; once for major cargo (a DM of +0) and once for incidental cargo (a DM of +2).
Finally, you can try to get a mail run. To try for the mail run, roll 2d6 and add a DM of +5. If the result is a 12 or higher, you can get a mail run.

Ey guys. I found enough cargo to fill our loading bay to the brim. I'm gonna go back to the ship.
Sophia heads back to the ship and waits for the others to arrive too
The former diplomat set on his way to return to the ship.
One moment please.
Once he gets everyone on the bridge...
So...ideas anyone?
"While we can't simply wait them out and leave; we are still expecting passengers after all, and I'm not sure if all the cargo has been loaded", The former diplomat states matter-of-factly, "Is there any reason we can't contact port authorities and let them deal with the problem?"
Carlos takes another look to make sure they aren't uniformed security.
Sophia heads to the communications console and tries to contact the locat security authorities
Rolls
Contact authorities (Electronics 0) - (2d6)

In the morning, the remainder of your cargo is loaded and your passengers arrive. The ten non-frozen passengers are:
1) Xinyi Jiang and her 5-year old son Peng. They are traveling as far as Antelles for pleasure. She is pleasant, while her son is very shy.
2) Tirto Cahya Hardja, businessman heading for Gadlolinia. He is gruff, but polite.
3) Gayge Aevum, young man out to see the universe and going to Antelles. He is very talkative.
4) Jahlea Harper, expectant mother heading for Gadlolina. First-time off-world.
5) Dariox Gabrelyan, serious-looking individual heading to Quiri. Keeps to himself and is very quiet.
6) Alezand Umarov, xenoscientist going to Gadlolina. He is polite and respectful.
7) Zimeon Schönberger, annoying nobleman going to Quiri. Complains constantly.
8) Briya Speropoulos, holovid star traveling to Antelles. She is (unsuccessfully) trying to stay out of the limelight.
9) Jezper McDonald, young man heading for Quiri. He seems very nervous and jumpy.
10) Lorlea Orszekhie, very attractive young woman. She seems to be at ease.
...but none of them set off any mental alarms.
Rolls
Recon check - (2d6)
He too is wary after last night but tries to avoid appearing as such. The steward happily engages in small talk with mr. Aevum and is pleasant with most passengers, but tries to avoid mr, Schönberger as much as possible.
She programs the ship's computers so that it can detect unauthorized intrusion into the systems or rooms. She is extra careful to include Rayshel's bed into the surveillance program.

It is customary for the ship’s captain to contribute Cr10 from every low passage towards a lottery in which each low passenger randomly guesses how many will survive the trip. If the winner is among the dead, the captain collects the prize. The lottery is administered by a ship’s steward. You have 20 low-passengers, so the pot would be Cr200.
During the trip, several of your passengers are quite active, moving about the passenger area and spending as much time as possible out of their rooms. On the 3rd day, Dariox Gabrelyan approaches Aleksis. "What can you tell me about Jezper McDonald? He's on your passenger manifest."
*Jump-dimming is a tradition that goes back to the early days of FTL travel. Jump drives use a lot of power and in the early days, it was necessary to shut down all non-essential systems before making the jump. Though it is no longer necessary in most cases, ships pay homage to that era by dimming their lights as they go into jump space.
I am sorry that my associate couldn't help you. Is there anything I can do for you?
As I am sure you can appreciate, we do not pry into out passengers lives. All I know is that he came aboard at the same port as yourself, paid his fare, and has caused no trouble.
If there is anything you think we should know, I am all ears.
If there is anything you need we are gladly of assisstance she says and winks at Carlos
