Okay, so the gearing up phase is probably more in-depth than it absolutely has to be, and I"m going to try to simplify it as much as possible. Here's the basics.
Each agent has a base number of Budget Points (to buy gear) and Gadget Points (to buy gadgets - think of them as the items Bond would get from Q).
Code Black missions give a base of 35bp and 6gp.
-- To determine your full Budget Points, roll 2d4, multiply the result by your CHA mod, and then add the base plus your class bonus.
-- To determine your Gadget Points, it's just your class bonus plus the base.
I've got this outlined below, but feel free to check my math. These do NOT include any dept bonuses.
Angelique:
-- BP: (2d4x2)+35+4
-- GP: 7
Lorraine:
-- BP: (2d4x2)+35+3
-- GP: 6
Vincent:
-- BP: (2d4x0)+35+1 = 36
-- GP: 7
Gene:
-- BP: (2d4x3)+35+3
-- GP: 6
Deacon:
-- BP: 35+2-(2d4x1)
-- GP: 6
Charles:
-- BP: 35+2-(2d4x1)
-- GP: 7
The SRO gives you an extra gadget point, that's factored in. However, the seaplane you need is coming out of your budget as well, and that's factored in too (Angelique's vehicle-specific GP are being spent on this, this time around. Control insists, I'm afraid.). Also, the SRO is not rich, so you've got limits. You can spend no more than 15bp on any one item, 30 on any one weapon, and can spend no more than 6gp on any single gadget or 15 on any one vehicle.
After we've got our rolls, we'll dive into the gear selection. As before, you can do it yourself or tell me what you want and I'll do it, I'm sharing with you the core book if you didn't have it before in order to let you see all your gear options. If you're not sure what you want, you can also just pick one of the bundles detailed in the gear section.
