1. Choose your Origin. This determines your Trait.
-Brotherhood of Steel
-Ghoul/Child Of Atom (officially, this is just for ghouls, but I think it could be used for the Children as well if you would like :) )
-Super Mutant
-Mister Handy (there is a couple extra rules and decision points for this one, so just be warned)
-Vault Dweller
-Wasteland Survivor
2. Increase S.P.E.C.I.A.L Attributes. Each attribute begins with a rank of 5, and you have 5 points you can use to increase any of your attributes, up to a max rank of 10. You can reduce any attribute to 4 to gain another point to increase a different attribute, but an attribute cannot be lower than 4.
3. Tag Skills and Buy Skill Ranks. Each skill starts at 0. Choose skills to be your 3 tag skills. Add 2 ranks to each tag skill. Then, spend 9 + INT points to increase your skill ranks. During character creation, a skill cannot have a rank higher than 3.
4. Choose Your First Perk.
5. Calculate Derived Statistics. Things like Carry Weight, Defense, and Melee Damage, etc.
6. Choose Your Starting Equipment. Select a starting equipment pack based on your origin, a personal trinket, and any extra equipment from your Tag Skills.
