I never posted an introduction when I joined GP six years ago. I'm gonna do it right this time.

Hello, Gamers' Plane! I'm Jabes, RPG addict and pastry chef. I ran a cake shop for quite a few years where we made geeky cakes like these D&D-themed ones.

I was introduced to D&D in 1987 (AD&D back then) and to this day, I still play with the same group of guys, my best friends. I've been on GP since early 2015, and was a very active member of the community for a while. Here, I discovered numerous new game systems, and made many new friends along the way. For personal reasons I had to go on an extended hiatus from GP and gaming beginning mid-2020. Now I've returned, hopefully for good, and though I may have to take it slow for a while I'm just happy to be back with this wonderful, wonderful community.

IRL my RPG experience has been almost exclusively some edition of D&D. When I was at my most active here I played mostly D&D5e but this site is such a great place to try new systems so I also dipped my toe in a bunch of other stuff: Pathfinder, Dungeonslayers, Exalted, Call of Cthulhu, Basic Fantasy RPG, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Symbaroum, Numenera, Reflections (a game of dueling samurai that a friend co-designed), various PbtA games, Lasers & Feelings, All Outta Bubblegum, and lots more.

I've never GMd IRL. On this site I GMd D&D5e and Dungeon World.

I hope we'll get to game together sometime! :-)

You invited me to my very first GP game right here in the Introductions forum. I was looking for a Dungeon World game and you were apart of one that was just starting up. It was unfortunately a short-lived game, but I will always remember your welcome and inclusive attitude towards new members, much like how your character in the game will forever be burned into my imagination:

@Chalrytharendir, such a pity that game ended so early. I thought we had a good group. And I do love DW as a system. I trust you've found plenty of other games to play since then.
