*Closed* - World of Greyhawk 5e Game

This is a game that has been running for over a year but due to players dropping out I am now opening up recruitment for three new players.

I am aware that due to some games discontinuing there are a number of players looking for a game - this game is suitable for newcomers to D&D and I am happy to explain any rules (there are no stupid questions) - the three players currently in the game are really helpful too.

Game System Dungeons and Dragons 5e. This is a fairly vanilla type game based on the players handbook with very few (if any) homebrew rules added in.

Game Info This is a very simple concept. I have a bunch of scenarios, covering all player character levels which I am DMing. The game is set in the world of Greyhawk to hang things together. Currently the players are almost at the end of the first scenario and new players will join the group at the beginning of the second scenario.
The emphasis is on fun with some roleplay and combat too.
I DM mainly through theatre of the mind with the occasional map thrown in.
Player Character restrictions Although the game is 5e I like a little of an old school feel so race choice is restricted to the traditional Human, dwarf, elf, half elf, gnome, half orc. I will allow multi-classing if it seems a reasonable choice and would discuss this with the player concerned.
Game duration and frequency of postingThe game has been ongoing for over a year and is fairly open ended. I post updates 2 or 3 three times a week and so I expect players to be able to make that type of commitment. I totally get when RL intrudes and am fairly relaxed about posting frequency - just let me know if you are going to be away for a while.
How to apply Just write a post on here giving a brief description of what type of character you would like to play, I will give it a week or so and choose the ones I like the sound of best. Happy to put anyone else on a waiting list and I will respond to all people who apply.
Sorry if this method sounds like I am being picky but I think it is fairer than first come first served.

I am not over bothered with a complex back story so a paragraph about your proposed character is fine.

Character Generation Player Characters will start at 2nd level to be on the same level with the players currently in the game.
Attributes can be selected by the following methods
Roll 4d6 - remove the lowest die roll - you select the order of the attributes.
Point buy - 27points
Happy to talk new players through through this - character generation will be on the game forum once you have joined the game as a player.

Other information The existing characters are an Elven Ranger, A Gnome Bard and a Half Elf Fighter.

I've had a character idea floating around in my head for a while of a cliché gnome wizard.
They'd probably be the classic weird, absent minded scholar, who wants to learn about the world by experiencing it, as well as through books.
I'll be deepening the concept into a full character, if I get into your game, of course.

I'd like to try my hand here. I've played 5th edition some, but I'm far from a master at it.

My idea is for a Human Monk who's on a personal quest to find what can not be found. I can use several backgrounds for this idea.

Don't worry - you don't really need any specialist Greyhawk handbooks or anything, the background is pretty light. As long as you have access to the 5e players guide you would be fine.

I could probably provide access to the phb (and pretty much all other source books) through DnD Beyond

I would love to play a dwarven storm sorcerer, if you will permit it.

I want to play as the same character idea from a now defunct game I tried to join a couple of days ago: A Dragonborn of the evil coloration (White) who was raised up by a Dwarven clan...now he is acting more like a dwarf than a proper dragonborn...

Storm Sorcerer is from Xanathar I think, I will permit all class options from Xanathar as well as the players handbook.

You will need to adapt the concept in that Dragonborn are not in this game, also let me know what class you are proposing to play.

Then..I guess I'll have to go with a Human fighter...

I'd like to play, if there's room, or get on the waiting list, if there's not. I'm new to GP, and ALMOST had a game, but the GM got banned.

I'd like to play a half-elf Bard. Someone who grew up sheltered but sunny among a family that owned a tavern. She grew up singing to entertain the patrons, and eventually decided that singing songs about heroes and adventures wasn't enough for her. She set out to make her own adventures, and had to learn a few rough lessons about how the world works along the way. I'm aiming for College of Whispers for her, though if these Cs are starting at level 2, I'll have to see where she winds up during the course of play. Might need a healer more than a trickster, after all.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm entirely unfamiliar with Greyhawke. At a glance it looks to me to be pretty comparable with the Faerun stuff I've played, just different names?

Here is Rakdos, the Mariner.He is not optimized, but he will be fun. He was a marine years ago, but after a particular mission, something magical changed him. He uses his magic to benefit him in a fight, but he is a marine still, so he prefers close-quarters melee combat.

would love to join!Feni is kind to everyone but likes to keep his past to himself, this is because there's nothing worth specking about. the people from his hometown know him as the boy who couldn't speak, he that's not a problem anymore however after running away he was taken in by a member of the Twilight Monastery who taught him much of what he knows today. Now Feni has grown to be a rather curious individual with a love for Food and Potions
