
As you advance up the road and approach the felled tree, three black-robed figures with crossbows leap from behind the massive log. The leader (B3) spits in your direction and curses at you.
"Hey, you filthy, double-crossing magots: Bartoz sends his regards. Get 'em boys!"
Make a post where you roll initiative for your character (usually this is 1d20 + dex modifier) and indicate where you will start on the battlemap (see below). You may choose any location within the blue square on the map (just south of the felled tree). Feel free to add in some witty banter or trash talk! Also take a look at the Terrain Features below.
At the start of the round, the Bandits have three-quarters cover (+5 AC) from the felled tree but if you go over or around the tree, it will be negated.
Big Log & Rocks: You can climb onto these features by moving to the big log and making a DC 12 Strength (Athletics) check. If you succeed you can continue moving. If you fail, you fall Prone. If you are attacking from high ground to low ground, you will have Advantage on the attack roll.
Forest Environment: You can assume that anything that might be in a typical forest environment can be here. You can use this for roleplay or tactical purposes.
