Hello friends! These links will take you to the excellent Handbooker Helper YouTube series that will help you navigate the process of creating a D&D 5e character with the Player's Handbook. Handbooker Helper was created by the Critical Role team.
Ability Scores
First off, you will determine your Ability Scores. This video on Ability Scores will explain what each ability means as well as how the numbers work.
When we make our characters in this game, you will use the "4d6 drop lowest" method as presented in the video to generate one set of stats. You can make all these rolls in the Character Creation Thread. If you don't like your set of rolls, you can instead choose these stats: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8.
Once you have generated your numbers, you can assign them to your stats as you see fit.
