Dice Roller Thread
A thread for making context-free rolls.

edit: There doesn't seem to be a keep/drop functionality for the roller, so we'll have to do this by hand, like Neanderthals. Like RPG playing Neanderthals!

I guess my test character can be an extremely mediocre bard, sorcerer or warlock. Or a paladin who is not favoured particularly by the gods, that sounds fun.

Hobgoblin or tabaxi are both okay by me. The hobgoblin's Saving Face trait is a little bit... ehhh?... so I might create some subraces with variants.

Artificers also benefit from a high Int. Or perhaps a strategically brilliant Fighter or polymath Bard?

Well, that paints a picture... some kind of holy fool or clumsy charmer, perhaps? A drunken monk or pratfalling jester?

I'm willing to bump up the Int so that the character isn't literally less Intelligent than an ape, or you can reroll the whole array and potentially come up with something better... or worse. I can also address balance issues in-game with items and suchlike, so don't let the fear of being 'suboptimal' dissuade you from an interesting concept.

dumb characters are fun. I suggest tabaxi for myself because I've never played one, and hobgoblin because I have something in mind. Maybe change saving face to short rest recharge, but instead of just once, I can do it equal to my proficiency bonus? If you have something better though...

If you use the rules in Tasha's about customizing racial ability scores, so you can put 2 into intelligence and 1 into dexterity, you still come up with a slightly better than average character, right? Especially considering you also have a feat

I have decided to go with a rock gnome bard. With a 7 intelligence, that makes him akin to a Forrest Gump-type character, so I am affectionately going to call him Trees Glūm.

He is going to be a College of Spirits bard, if that works for you, DM!

I saw that, and that’s why he’s a rock gnome…and because the mechanics of the rock gnome, and because in the movie Lt. Dan nicknamed Dallas, whose from Phoenix, and Cleveland, who was from Detroit.
