ahah, don't worry about the lore, you can add stuff to it as needed. We're kind of following the plot of the campaigns that are not canonical yet anyway. Dendroid guards ~(I guess treants is trademarked?) is a cool idea

Don’t worry about the treemen really 😁 we can have elven sorcerers summon them. It’s our game and our story. We use the lore as inspiration but we can just shamelessly steal all the stuff we want 🥷 I’ll try to write the threat soon based on that idea

I don't quite understand how threats work yet. As I understand, I now have to roll against Malquis, sometimes? I guess you paint the scene and announce that I will be competing against her. Is that right? Will she always be present or just when you feel it's appropriate? Probably irrelevant because the narrative would demand that she intervene. I'm more asking about the game mechanics

You're right, from the rules all threats would be extra rolls but, since we are limiting the number of challenges per turn (otherwise it gets too much), I'll RP these NPCs independently for the moment, just to introduce them.

I'm thinking about you rolling against Malquis next turn. Trying to keep the game manageable for the moment and will update the rules soon (I hope)

Ok, just reviewing this one. We need to clarify "which hero did what".

Your first roll was a success. I think Harold Quickfoot fits as he was the one who got "the resources" right? So Harold is ♢d4.
Then you got two clubs. You will call on Baltasar Vodan who starts as ♧d2. Since you can renforce both heroes you have available:
* Harold ♢d6
* Baltasar ♧d4 (As you say in your OOC, you can use his expertise to boost to d6)

So that's the starting point :D

Now from your writing (and because it's one roll per turn for each hero), it would seem Baltasar Blackwall was leading the failed Pinehurst Battle, leaving Harold in control of the Siege of Timberhil. If so, the 1d6 you rolled is not boosted by the hero skill, which mean you can still use all your skills :D

I didn't ever differentiate my characters by suit. I got a diamond which at first was going to be the rogue, but I also wanted him to fight as well. I am going to try to get back to having my heroes have skills

Don’t worry about that for now. They can all do everything anyway.

I think we need to review that so you can change it for the second scenarios

I was thinking I wanted to retire the Blackwalls when we get to the end of the first scenario. I'm not even sure I can continue after that. I'm going back to university soon, and if I need to, I might have to cut back on some of my extra free time. We'll revisit when we get there.

Ah right. Holidays are ending soon. Hopefully you find some time to continue playing with us even if posting slower. I'm enjoying the "evil" perspective that the blackwalls are bringing to the table forum ;)

Collette's army of golems versus the tree folks would be interesting. The idea when I drew the 9 was to see what happened as the battle for Fenton continued. Looking at the suit, I made Collette. So my idea was Collette's army *MIGHT* challenge the elves, trees, and orcs at Fenton, but if the challenge failed, Collette doesn't engage the enemy and instead flees. A second threat could easily be made out of this situation.

oh sorry, I thought I did. I interpreted the 9 of hearts as a chance to bring some constructs into the story. I also like to seed potential threats into the story. I thought the Silverbearded Symposium was an excellent challenge as an opportunity for some "negotiations" with constructs. The discovery roll was just to help paint the scene before you rolled and then I was going to finish painting how the battle of Fenton went. I did roll again in case you wanted.

Fun fact: I turned 22 today. I am arbitrarily going to declare that this is also the birthday of Helena, whose only present is the realization that she might have to face her nephew across the battlefield to save her house.

It's looking like I'm going to have to pull the plug on this game. It's getting busy on school . We wrap this scenario and I might have to back out of the game. I'll let you know as we get close to our conclusion here.
