Character and World Creation

Follow the rules listed in the resources page.

We will discuss and build characters here. You have the final say on your own character, but this is a collaborative effort.

Don't bargain on leveling up.
Your character sheet is both prescriptive and descriptive. using XP to buy a Skill or Ability adds it to your sheet and means you get it in the fiction (tell us how); but if you gain a Skill in the fiction you get to add it to your sheet.

Silver spent while adventuring does not count towards XP, but can still make you stronger ---through purchase of items--- or keep you alive.

You can often 'throw money at a problem' to safely overcome a threat.

Everyone is human. Other races need to be discovered before they can be played.

For now, you are all Fresh Faced Adventurers, never having gone more than a day's travel from the main (and largely undefined) town, and new to this life.

In order for us to be able to see the contents of the sheets, you all need to mark the grey 'note' icon that says Add to Library on your character list.

Wold of Dungeons leans more towards 'sword and sorcery' style games than 'high fantasy; --think Conan rather than Lord of the Rings. Magic is probably a bad idea, don't try use it unless you want to be corrupted by it and judged by others.

I'm going to roll in order of stats and roll with what I get.

I'll be a fighter picking Alertness, Slayer, and Tough
Martial weapon (30s), shield (10s)
20ft rope, iron spike, flint/steel, torches{4}, tent, bandages, travel rations, waterskin (16s)

Speaking of notifications. Emails from GP are taking many hours to come though at the moment (they are always a bit slow) so I am checking manually.
Therefore, when you submit a character to the game, drop us a note here so I know to accept it.

It is also probably redundant to list 5/5 since 5 is not your 'max HP' or anything , it is just how much you have right now.
It is fully possible that the next time Hit Dice are rolled (you reroll when eating and resting and receiving healing) the number will be lower. Yes, I know, it can turn out when you try to heal that your wounds were worse than you thought.

I can't remember what I rolled last night, but the stats I got were:
STR +1
DEX +0
CON +1
INT +2
WIS +0
CHA +1

Noob question: How do I decide what kind of character though? Should I be guided by those stats, or just pick what I like and use skills and abilities to round it out? If the latter, I'd been leaning towards a thief, but is it better to instead round out the types we've got in the group?
