Re-uploading an image

I just tried to update my avatar image for a character and it did not work.
I tried reducing the size to under 1 MB - still nothing happened
Then I tried changing the name of the image from kiara.png to kiara2.png - still nothing
Thinking that I might already have uploaded a file with that name, I tried again with the day's date kiara14092021.png, and then it worked.

I'm guessing there is a record of the images that I have uploaded, even if I upload a new one, and I can't overwrite an existing image. It all makes sense from a data handling perspective. But an error message would be nice.
And perhaps a cleanup job for images that are no longer in use.

Send me an email with the image in question and the char id it's for and I'll take a look. It uses the char ID for the image, so shouldn't be a replication issue.

I've reuploaded previous images with no problem. Are the dimensions right? Not under 150x150 and not too huge for the site to handle?
