This seems like the way it should be.

Can we extend this to games other than Custom? Many like PbtA, Fate, GURPS, and such are also custom with custom source books and a settings, and would benefit from being able to specify what is actually being played.
I don't know if we want a list of which it should apply to, or just add the field to all games and let the user decide.

I'd say so, especially for Fate and PbtA. Savage Worlds as well...

I'm wondering if I should just build a gui to add new systems, or if we need a "subsystem" field. This was a temp solution in my mind.

So, yeah, it’s simple to change those lines so it applies to everything.

Yah, but if we're going to expand, we should think it through.. Adding small features on the v1 is fine, but if we're going to have a big effect, let's think about how the data will carry through.

This might be neither here nor there, but I've always liked 'tagging' systems that suggest the tag you're looking for, but also allow you to create your own. I've seen unmanaged tags still be pretty effective, but mods could also clean up the system tag list from time to time.
