The Seven Sisters
Drawn to the celebrated seers known as the Seven Sisters, you witnessed both prophesy and tragedy. A force of invaders attacked and slew the sisters, then retreated. These invaders represented a force under the control of an unknown entity, and it was determined that the warriors were under a form of geas or mind control. You feared rightly that this invaders were sent at the behest of the Conqueror in the prophesy, of an invasion that would lead to the Rhyhold in chains.
Taking the prophesy to heart, your band of four plus the rhyfox Gwyddion, sought to seek answers to the prophesy. At its heart the prophesy speaks to a power hidden within the Rhyhold, which is nearly ten thousand square miles of swamp, forest, and hills. Long ago, this power was entombed so that the fallible avarice of sentient beings wouldn't use it to control others.
The prophesy spoke to seek four items, and in your dreams and own unique histories, you realized that you each had a connection to one of those items.
- Tritous recalled a story in his home town about griffins and a cauldron.
- Jarl recalls a vendetta with a rival pack, before his days, a bloody wand had some part to play.
- Ryssik thinks of a submerged tunnel near one of her prior homes, and rumours a lost sword, wicked and cruel.
- Ross: The vague description of a "Gem of Remembrance" reminded him of an old family legend, something you keep hidden from others.
You started by traveling to Jarl's tribe, the garou. On the way, you found a cavern with an icy statue of someone that Jarl thought could easily been his grandmother, though far more ancient. The statue, magically kept from melting, was clearly missing a central piece, a gemstone to be slotted into the pendant.
At the garou village, you heard tell that the shaman had been entrusted with an artifact wand, but it was useless and they traded it to human interlopers as a sign of peace. When you confronted the humans, you found that several of them were known to Ross, bad people, and the corpulent chief Terroral offered to give the wand back in exchange for better hunting grounds.
During your return to the garou village, you were approached by another of Ross' former acquaintances, named Havi. He claimed that he had something Ross needed, a mystical stone, and that the human camp had set a trap to capture you.
You ambushed the ambushers and slew at least one, capturing the others. During the aftermath, Havi was outed as a Shadow shaper, was possibly behind the ambush, and so you captured him too.
Havi was executed as corrupted by Shadow, but in the final moments of his life, used Psychic Contact to express his regret to Ross about the affair. So you have a Conqueror, alleged to be 'not born of Shadow', but an enemy to Shadow and Light. A prophesy guides you to awaken an ancient power that could save the Rhyhold from being conqueror and enslaved.

[ +- ] The Prophesy
"The conqueror comes, all wormlike and hale
You'll know him when arrives on a boatbreaking gale.
His swordstaff drinks blood it knows not thirsts end
Till all in the Rhyhold, a crooked knee bend.
Only one way breaks chains before they hold fast
Star time, long gone, may arise from our past
This is not certain, their line may not last
Find you the keys to unbind them to task.
The cauldron of the griffin, the wand of old blood
The gem of remembrance, the blade of red mud.
Together they will call forth the traitor King's shade
His magic will reveal how Astromancer is chained."

[ +- ] The Seer's and the Shaman's words
From the fire, pouring the hot water into a kettle for tea, the boy seer says, "The frozen woman you found was Ioity, I'm certain of it. She waits for the Gem of Remembrance to be returned to her by one of Jero's blood. A human. Similarly, the Wand of Old Blood needs to be returned to Jero, wherever he is, by one of our pack. Only, we don't have the wand anymore, do we, Aophan? "
The shaman flinches at the boy's final words. "No. You counciled otherwise, but I did not listen. The Wand of Old Blood was passed down to me through the years for safe keeping. We don't know much about it, other than the riddle I recited. It radiates power but not one of my ancestors has found a way to activate or use that power. So I traded it to buy off raiders, fair trade to avoid a war." He sees your concern, and holds up a hand. "No, not Night Folk, human bandits that live many miles to the north of here. They haunt a wood pretending to be vigilantes but are nothing more than thieves."

[ +- ] Havi's message to Ross
In your sleep Havi reaches out to you, using mindspeech (Psychic Contact).
He says, Ross. I know that I was a horror to you, me and the others, when we were kids. There was always a darkness inside, and somehow, feeding it made me feel better. But that darkness grew stronger. After you grew up and left, things got worse for me. I sought answers and I found power. Power and the knowledge in the secret places of things that would come. I tried to gather people, rally a defense, but those that would listen to me were weak -- who else would listen to a coward and a bully? Those I gathered, we fled into the woods, trying to find a place to hide. That's what cowards do.
I know I've fallen. Sometimes I can feel that, a clarity of thought, but most times, paranoia and fear consume me.
I will die now, the axe is about to fall. I know you won't listen, but I have to tell someone. He's coming, and he's not born of Shadow. He'll destroy the rhyhold, and there is no one alive who can stop him. The stone I think it's important, your father --
The connection snaps suddenly.
