Introduction

I have been running this Spycraft RPG Version 2.0 for almost 2 years with a solid core of players. There have been a number of other players that have come and gone (attrition due to RL as is common on a PbP game), but have managed a fairly solid beginning of a great story none the less and a great example of gaming in the modern genre.

I have pitched this game a number of times on the Recruitment board (as well as other outlets) and getting new players has been a bit of a challenge in part obviously because it is an 'older' game but also I believe that new or returning players seem to be a bit intimidated by Character Creation and the somewhat more 'crunchiness' of the rules. The abundance of options is one of the reasons I love the game as you can literally create the exact character you want - whether your inspiration is a gun toting ninja or author turned investigator to anything in between.

In order to facilitate - hopefully - some excitement and/or interest AND provide an example of how easy and fun character creation can be I had the idea to create a character and chronicle the process via post that new players could use as a guide. The Spycraft 2.0 core book provides a nice 10 step walk through and I will be using that as my framework.
