Introduction

As you begin your travels to fame and glory you have discovered the road is actually paved mostly with dirt and boredom. You have heard of the caravan attacks outside of Neverwinter and have begun to make your way to fame and fortune. As light begins to fade from the sky you have come upon a sign welcoming you to the small lake community of Crystal Shores. What appears to be a smoldering funeral pyre is near the lake’s edge and a small group of children play near the road. Your journey to the caravan raiders is halfway there. A few more days and you will begin your life as adventurers!

I'm looking to do a relatively short trial adventure using the HARP rule set. A free download of HARP lite should be enough for us, but I do have an early version of the print book. I've never run this game before, but am interested in seeing how it plays.

I'll take the first three players to express interest. We'll go with a post once "every day or so" pacing.

Questions, let me know!

Must. Play. All. The. Games.

In the interest of enabling new comers to GP, keep me in reserve if the interest falls short.

Yea I'm starting in the same boat. Want some new blood to get in and play. Keep me in reserve as well.

I'll also be in reserve. I'm excited and daunted by the task of learning ANOTHER new system :)

Wow 3 interested players asked to be kept in reserve. What are the odds?

well I, for one, am able to say no and realize when I am involved in enough games...

Very good then. I have my three reserves it seems. However, you may end up being the players as HARP is a bit more complicated then D&D being an offshoot of Rolemaster and all. Might not be the best system for someone starting out.

I'll let it ride through the holiday weekend and see what more interest I get.

Thank you all.

Rolemaster... grumble grumble... way too hard for a novice player... grumble grumble.. best leave it to the professionals, heh heh /evilcackle

Well I don't think its hard per se. Quantum mechanics is hard. But time consuming, yes.

Time consuming works well with PbP

I'm interested. I gave the HARP Lite a quick read last night. I wish they had included a bit more options in the document though, Warrior Mage totally sounds like something I'd want to play.

I'm interested, just started on this forum too. I've read through most of the lite rules so far, seems like an interesting rules concept (and a complicated one!) If you are holding out through the holiday weekend to begin, I'd love to join! (I could take the extra time to make sure I have a decent grasp of the ruleset and a good hold on a character)

I will be gone over the weekend so nothing will be up and running until next week at the earliest.

The Warrior-Mage class only has a few paragraphs extra information in the book I have so I could probably find a way to share that with anyone interested.
