Welcome Valdus

Welcome aboard Valdus.

What do you hope to get from this game?

Your public forum post implied you were familiar with WoDu? Have you played before? What else do you play and enjoy?

Do you have much PbP experience? Here or elsewhere. Take a look at the Help! thread for guidance.
Thank you for your enquiry about what the party needs. This game builds the scenarios around the PCs, so we don't have any particular gaps than need filling, you can play whatever you feel like and the game will adjust to make that be needed/useful.

The dice might not make it easy to play what you want (or what we needed, if that were a thing:). Roll your Attributes and then we can talk. See the Rules -> Character Creation page for details, and roll, and then ask in the Character and World Creation thread if you have questions or ideas.

Magic is not widely accepted, so if you choose to play a magic user, that will come with problems and possible burnings.

I am an ancient role-player, forged in the fires of 1981 Red Box. I have played just about everything under the sun, except Vampires. I live in New Orleans and am damn tired of vampires.

So that brings me to play by post, I have been playing pbp since around 2000. People in the Crescent City don't really rpg as much as i the northern environs. We tend to role-play in the streets. So here I am.

I have played and gm'ed Dungeon World and other incarnations of Powered by the Apocalypse in various forms. From Ironsworn to Calypso to Simple World, I ran a game of DW for my students back when I was the moderator of the RPG club after school. I did it solely because the gm made no roles- I loved that.

Haven't the slightest idea of what I want to play, at all. Do we have a monk? I always default to a monk so why not. Even better would be a mystic from the ye olde Rules Cyclopedia?

Have you GMed Ironsworn for players? I found it to have too many Moves --many that were redundant with a GM (or made the GM redundant, which is their purpose:)-- so it did not really provide much benefit over other games. Scrapping the GM and running it Co-Op works well with the right group.
