Its in beta right now, but the CRB is scheduled to come out this summer. I am super excited and will also be looking to play here and in person somehow!

So jealous. I almost backed it, but then didn't, and now I'm sad.

299 pages of digital goodness! I haven't done anything more than just skim some sections of it yet, but it looks fantastic! :D

Wow this work day can't end soon enough.

I enjoyed the playtest.

so, I aonly managed to read the section on raises and dice rolling and how dramatic sequences work, but I like it so far. the dice system seems really different from first edition. what are everyone's thoughts?

I attempted to run their original quick-start rules with my group, but they were a bit confusing, and we didn't have a very good understanding of how things worked.

Apparently we weren't the only ones who had trouble, because they released an updated quick-start PDF that was supposedly cleaned up a fair bit based off player feedback, but I haven't had a chance to run it yet.

My overall impression: In theory, the system is really cool and dynamic. The actions available are wide open and there are a lot of mechanics that encourage dramatic action and play. I like how it all sounded like it was supposed to work, but in practice, there seemed to be some holes in how the quick-start instructions were written.

I am hoping to get a chance to peruse the beta PDF on Monday.

Keep me apprised guys; I'd love to get this on GP ASAP.

ok, so I am loving the setting and I actually like the way the dice system works out. the GM sets the scene, the players roll their dice pool according to how they want to approach the situation (melee, sneaky, charming) and gerate a number of raises that they can then use to change aspects of the scene. seems really creative to me.

the only drawback I'm seeing so far is that it seems as if players have a LOT of upkeep on their characters. they get to write their own story, tracking virtue and hubris, etc. some of this may work well in pbp, some of it may bog down the game.

no character sheet, keleth, sorry.

I'm fully expecting the finished product to have a whole lot of changes. it would be impossible to run a 7th sea game right now with what we have. does anyone even know what kind of dice this game uses?

according to the kickstarter site, they're trying to get the full PDFs out after some proofreading. looks like they're going to try to get it out this week...

It sounded like they really wanted something solid for Gencon and there's an upcoming publisher's deadline so they can get some books out, right?
May 30, 2016 4:55 am
yeah. I don'tthink anything's going to be in print until october but they're pushing to get the PDFs out ASAP. if they do it looks like I'll be running a 7th sea game earlier than I thought...

I tried to see if I could buy the PDFs without having been a backer but it was not easy to determine. always happy to read a new rule system.

Don't forget about the Fate Witch. Making sets with your die was interesting in the playtest plus GM buying raises off you.
