Hey folks, I thought it might be useful for the purposes of crafting backstories to give a bit more details about the feywild in this adventure. Also, it might makes sense - especially for characters with the Feylost background - to have a bit of knowledge of that place. I've put this information in spoiler tags because some of your backstories indicate no direct contact with the Feywild. I don't mind if anyone reads this regardless, but some players like to remain unspoiled.
This story will be primarily concerned with one specific domain within the Feywild: Prismeer. Prismeer is to the Feywild as Ravenloft is to the Domains of Dread - just one of many, many sequestered realms within the plane. You may wish to tie your character's backstory to Prismeer and its denizens rather than the Feywild in general.

[ +- ] Prismeer
Prismeer is one of the myriad Domains of Delight, which are collectively a wondrous, bright reflection of the real world. It is a sequestered realm, bordered by mists, and ruled by the powerful archfey Zybilna. It is very much the archetypical Feywild domain. Just like fairy tales, Prismeer comes in all sorts of flavors and tones; sometimes it can be a dark place, sometimes it can be a very light and whimsical place.
In Prismeer there are the creatures you expect to encounter: fae beings like satyrs and pixies and sprites, and then there are intruders that have made their way into the domain, or creatures that have been lost there or found their way there because they crossed over from the natural world. There's a great deal of range when it comes to the types of creatures that you can encounter there.
One of the key aspects of Prismeer is it's very easy to get lost. Time and space sort of bend there in weird ways. A lot more time can pass than you think, and sometimes there is no road to where you need to go or the road turns back on itself if you don't know the trick to getting to the end of it.
Another defining element of Prismeer are its unique rules. There is the Rule of Reciprocity, and fey like to be repaid for the kindnesses that they offer (whether it is wanted or not is not). There are strong rules of ownership that define what you own and what can you give up and what happens when you take something that doesn't belong to you. There can be serious consequences for violating these rules, whether you know them or not, and sometimes Fey will try to trap you with these rules.
Prismeer is also a plane of pure emotion, which is a tangible force in the world just like gravity is on the material plane. The emotions of your characters and the realm's inhabitants can literally manifest themselves in the world. The more powerful the creature, the more Prismeer warps to their mood.
Zybilna is a well-loved and fair ruler, though not somebody to be trifled with. Rumours abound that she was once a great Witch Queen that went by a different name, a peerless and terrible conqueror. But, having made too many enemies, she hid herself in the Domains of Delight where the technicolor land of joy has softened her heart. She does still have her enemies, of course. Chief among these are the hags of the Hourglass Coven, who are very much the evil hags of fairy tales who resent the good Zybilna and covet her power. The coven consists of Skabatha Nightshade, Endelyn Moongrave, and Bavlorna Blightstraw.
