Link to own profile

A link on the avatar menu to your own profile (for reasons that evade me).

It's just nice to be able to see it the way other people so without finding one of your games and clicking on yourself. I agree with bowl, I think "Profile" should access your public profile, and either "Profile Settings" or just "Settings" goes to where "Profile" currently does

Because I do visit my profile from time to time and it'd be easier to access it that way than to find a forum post I made and click my name there.

But even if we don't add it, we really should rename the "Profile" option. It's confusing that it's called that if it doesn't link to your profile

I just click Gamers if I want to access it. I suppose I could be lucky being near the start of the alphabet, but that’d be true of Bowlofspinach too.

Sure, but that's a pretty roundabout way to get there (and won't work if we continue to grow).

Again agreeing with bowl, if nothing else "Profile" should be renamed.

Okay. I’m sold on the name change.

But now I’m super curious about why people want to see their own profile.

I’ve just looked at mine. I’m on 10,050. I kinda miss the fact I didn’t spot the 10,000 post milestone. In a few days I’ll have been here for 2 years - I wonder if I’ll remember. But I think I’d have preferred a notification or something for milestones because I don’t want to check my profile daily.

What should we see on our own profiles? What is the psychological need that is being fulfilled? Is this like badges again (but system awarded)? 10,000 posts badge? Run a game badge? Qralloq award for running 50 games simultaneously?

Seeing who you’ve played with, maybe who other people have played with? A chart of posting frequency?

If your own profile is going to have such a prominent position it’d be nice to show something when you click on it?

I like the idea of changing text "Profile" to "Settings". The only thing I go to Profile for is curiosity about post count or by accidentally clicking my name, which is admittedly liberally splashed across many pages haha.

Agree with this change / idea.
