From where do you access it?

What will it return? Will it always search everything and then return the results visible to me?

If we can filter the returned (or searched, depending on the speed implications) results then it would make sense to add individual searches to each of the 'Latest..." pages so we can search just our games, or just community posts, or just public games, and so on.

Maybe in the orange header, on the right hand side?
That is a common enough place to find search boxes and does not add an extra line.

There can be a link to an advanced search that takes us to that if we need more than a single line textbox.

Dunno. I think it returns everything you can access. I did think that a per game search made sense - then I tried it and, meh, it's pretty obvious which games they belong to.

It's different to the other searches though as the other searches are really returning threads. So I think this should look a little more like a google search with text snippets under the result for each post.

We would need to see the types of results (on the staging server) to say more about the value, but I am not keen on getting every occurrence of the word without the ability to filter and sort the results. But that is not about 'where' the search goes, so we can address that later.

Sure. This kind of thing really needs looking at with real data.

Although, let's keep it real... We'll either get what's easy for me to implement, or we'll get nothing. That's going to be the low bar here - "is it better than Ctrl+F?". I'm certainly not planning an advanced search for release 1.
